Best Damn Vacuum I’ve Ever Owned First, the complaints about the weight are unfounded. It weighs about as much as a regular vacuum. Vacuums back in the day were heavy! Housework isn’t effortless. If you can carry a healthy toddler around all day, you can handle this vacuum. Be serious, y’all. Now, the comments about the powerful suction? Absolutely true. This thing is STRONG. It pulled up everything buried in my carpets—dog hair, cat hair, dirt, and probably remnants from the last century. The canister is also larger than those on most vacuums, which is a huge bonus in a house with several pets. As for people complaining that it eats cords and small rugs: what planet are y’all from? Pick up your cords before vacuuming! Take small, loose rugs outside and shake them, or use a sweeper designed for them. With suction this powerful, of course it’s going to grab anything that isn’t secured. Y’all are tripping. That being said, this is the best damn vacuum I’ve ever owned. I’ve never spent this much money on a vacuum before, but the Dyson Ball Animal 2 Plus is worth every penny.

So far so good. Bought this because my cordless Dyson has such a tiny canister and I'm dumping it every 10 swipes through my carpet. I have 3 very hairy dogs and this has a nice big canister and holds a lot more hair before I need to dump it. My only complaint which is the same as everyone else.... It's pretty heavy and a little hard to maneuver. It's not a deal breaker for me though. It has awesome suction and the perfect attachments I need to clean.

This vacuum is a piece of garbage. I never knew I could feel such rage and loathing towards an inanimate object. It's like someone who has never used a vacuum designed it. The "automatic adjustment" to the carpet causes it completely suction to my carpeting making it virtually impossible to push it. Not to mention, it pulls up my area rugs and causes them to shift around because the suction is so incredibly strong. Every time I vacuum, I end up dripping sweat with a sore back. The wand and hose are virtually impossible to use. In no universe do they "release in one smooth action" nor is it easy to put them back. I can't even imagine what they were thinking when they designed the wand and hose part of this vacuum. There is also a large protrusion on the front of the vacuum that makes it impossible to vacuum under my cabinets in the kitchen- and using the wand on the floor is an absolute nightmare. My only wish is that I didn't keep it as long as I did in order to avoid the hassle of returning it, assuming I'd just get used to it. Oh! And after using it, trying to get it to lock into an upright position so it can be put away takes multiple attempts and is beyond infuriating after the most irritating vacuum experience known to man. The cord is pretty long, though, so that's nice I guess.

Had vacuumed with old cleaner and when the Dyson arrived I vacuumed again. The Dyson was full of everything my old vacuum had missed. Great machine. Strong suction gets deep down in the carpet and the transition to wood floors(without beater bar) picks up all the pet hair and dust on the first pass. Would recommend. I don’t know the difference between Animal 2 and the newer version, Animal 3 but 2 does everything I need.

A good machine with a couple cons. This thing sucks hard. On a bare floor its all you could ever hope for. We have a very, hairy house. Multiple dogs and just dust everywhere all of the time. Maybe its the country living. Idk. But I really should use it a few times a week. Its bad, y'all. Now, the con side to this is if you have thin rugs, it will suck them right up into the roller. So not really good for freestanding rugs. I don't have carpet. But I think it would be good for that as it is connected to the floor. It seems to be pretty good at not clogging every use, which I definitely appreciate. With my other vacuums, I pretty much have to disassemble after each use to unclog them. Too much work for this chick. Other things I wish I could change...its larger than what I’m used to. And heavier. Much heavier. Makes maneuverability harder. And because it is larger, it doesn't fit under some of my furniture anymore. I mean, overall its a great buy with a couple of caveats. But if you can deal with those things, I say go fot it.

This is my second Dyson Animal. Outstanding vacuum with easy maneuverability, excellent dirt, sand and fur pick up and convenient canister with touches emptying. Multiple useful attachments, easily attached to the vacuum. The Animal is great for vacuuming stairs. Excellent value, sturdy, stores easily and moderate noise level.

I was really excited to own a Dyson but am very disappointed with the design flaws. First off, it doesn't have a light to help target dirt in the areas you want to clean, so you miss a lot. Even my inexpensive battery operated no name brand vacuum has a light. There is only about an inch of clearance to get under your furniture because the way the head of the vacuum is designed. The wand is very akward, with the rigid plastic being distal, another design flaw and due to this it creates additional stress on the hose which will leave it prone to splitting in time. It does not bend well to help you reach out of the way areas. It loses almost all suction if you have it upright. I like to have the vacuum upright when I clean the stairs because it is safer for me that way. Less of a tripping and falling risk. As for floor compatibility, it does not do that well on hardwood floors or tiel unless the roller brush is engaged. The pros are it has great suction and an extra long cord. So I give it poor performance for ease of use, durability, and not a good value for the money.

This is a heavy duty vacuum. If you have small area rugs it will not vacuum it clean..just sucks it up. It’s nice to be able to use this and not have to go over again because it did not pick up everything. Bought this on Prime Day. This vacuum may not be for everyone. I live in a one floor home and the cord is long! I love that because I can do several rooms and not have to unplug every time. I do wish they had a space for all the attachments but that would probably just add another 5 lbs to it. I decided to buy this vacuum instead because I got tired of buying cheap vacuums and they don’t work or feel like a toy for a toddler It does not go under furniture, so you may want to consider the stick version.
