  • Cleans well, zones the house well, worth the money, I'd buy it again. Cleans well, zones the house well, worth the money, I'd buy it again.
Number of Items: 1
I replaced a three-year old SHARK vacuum robot with this one. I put it in use on Dec 26th, 2025 and have been using it for about 5 weeks now. It's 5 stars in my book. Here are my thoughts: . After two weeks, I was about to throw it out the window. It wasn't doing the zones very well, couldn't find the docking station, got stuck in places, and the dirt map would not sync with the house map. . Now, after 5 weeks, I've changed my tune. First, it remembers the zones well. I heat with firewood and bring in dirt once or twice a day in winter. I can have this thing clean up the dirt at the fireplace after each wood run. It takes about 5-10 minutes. The old SHARK robot never mastered zoning. . The big thing to remember about the dirt map and the house map is that they will sync up after about 3-4 weeks, maybe 10-20 whole-house cleanings. See the attached picture of the dirt map synced over the house map. . Second, the Dirt Analysis algorithm seems to work perfectly. I've attached a map of today's cleaning. The bright areas are the entry door near the fireplace, in front of the fireplace, and in front of the couch. It spends extra time in those areas and does a great job. The attached picture shows the dirt it picked up this morning - I just ran the darned thing yesterday. Great work. . The device gets stuck in two places. There is a ultra fine, but deep, rug that it cannot master. I guess the wheels get stuck in it, and it stops. I remove that rug when cleaning that room. It also does not do heating registers well - it gets stuck on them. Whenever stuck, the iPhone app tells us so we can unstick it. . The noise level is just fine. It changes often as it is cleaning on AUTO. I watch it clean the rug at the fireplace door, and it's loud with increased suction and a rotating brush. I don't care - it's doing what it has to do. . The battery life is fine. We have a large house requiring 2-3 hours of cleaning if we do the entire house. It has to recharge for 90 or so minutes twice. The thing is - with the dirt analysis and me knowing where the dirt concentrates around the fireplace, I just clean there - 15 minutes tops. . This was expensive, but if I had to do it again, I'd absolutely buy this one over another SHARK. . The iPhone app is fine, but could be improved with a feature to tell me where the unit is. Also, I haven't figured out how to cancel a cleaning mid-process. . This thing takes little time to maintain. I wash the filters and such about every week. I can start it, and it just does its thing. It took a little time, however, to figure out those areas that it had trouble with (like heat vents). Top notch and well worth the price in my book. ... show more

  • [DO NOT BUY] a tragically & unnecessarily bad product from an otherwise great product company [DO NOT BUY] a tragically & unnecessarily bad product from an otherwise great product company

It is with heavy heart that I convey how terrible this product is. I've had this Dyson robot vacuum for around 6 months. it is set up to clean one large almost entirely empty room with extremely low industrial carpet. the HW itself seems pretty great with amazing suction that cleans noticeably better than my previous Neato vacuum. However, there are persistent SW issues that make it incredible frustrating to use. I kept hoping a SW update would fix the issues, but i have now given up on that hope. Issues I routinely encounter include: dropping off the WiFi network for no reason (i have other Dyson products like air cleaners that *never* fall off the network) and then being very tricky to get back on the network. his is probably the most annoying given it takes 5-10 minutes to get it back onto the network (which I'll complain more about below). The second most annoying issue is getting "stuck" which is ludicrous given how simple and empty the room is... and to be clear "stuck" seems to mean it bumped into the wall or a simple object like a pole (see photos) whereas other times the robot will just stop in the middle of the totally empty room and declare it is "stuck". There are a few other similar and seemingly related failure modes... like the robot will not indicate it is "stuck" but will just stop in the middle of the room and let the battery drain. Even when it is working well, the app UI (i am on iOS) for managing the WiFi is terrible. If you are (or were previously) connected to a network and go to manage WiFi you cannot see what network you are/were connected to... you can only add a new WiFi connection which will overwrite whatever was previously there. If my robot has fallen off the network and I go to do that it then will allow me to reconnect to the same network and tell me it was successfully connected but frequently it is not actually connected (i.e., I still cannot communicate with the robot via WiFi... just over BT for settings management) so it takes a few tries repeating that for the robot to successfully connect. It seems to work best if I switch WiFi networks instead of trying to reconnect to the one it already dropped off. In any case, you get the idea. Just a tragically and unnecessarily bad product from an otherwise great product company. ... show more

  • Best Robot Vacuum on the market, hands down!
Number of Items: 1
I have read a few less than flattering reviews on the Dyson Robo vac. While I understand those who complain about the lack of features for the price, i.e. no mop or auto emptying functions. I believe that when you buy the Dyson you understand those are not features on the machine, and instead you are getting a Dyson. A superior built superior vacuum. The Dyson indeed is exactly this. The machine appears to be built like a Dyson in every way. It vacuums far better than others that we have tried. It also has a very easy and efficient emptying system. Very similar to all of the other Dyson products that we have owned. I read another complaint about the filters being expensive and needing to be replaced. It is similar to our other Dysons in that you can easily clean the filter and should last a lifetime. My wife and I will purchase a replacement to simply rotate them as we do with all of our Dyson vacuums. Like everything else Dyson, your initial purchase price is your price. No replacement parts needed. Even the amazing rollers can easily be cleaned. I also saw a complaint about edge cleaning. this is non-sense. The little brush, scooper, whatever you call it automatically pops out and can get the edges far better than those spinning little brushes that scatter the dirt that others use. I have also seen reviews saying that the software is difficult. Honestly, this is by far the most superior app that I have used. For example, the EcoVac cleaned very well, but the app of terrible. Difficult to connect to both the phone and the Wi-Fi and constantly lost connection. And then reconnecting it took a very long time. The customer service was even worse than the app. The Dyson connections and setup took minutes. It stayed connected and worked flawlessly. I was actually able to load the app onto my wife's phone and login and all of the settings, maps, activities, etc. showed up immediately on her phone. What could be easier? The unit ran perfect on the schedule I created. It returned to the docking station to recharge when needed and then continued where it had left off cleaning. Our 2600 sq ft single story house took the unit one recharge to clean completely. We use the quite mode since it is both quiet and still outperforms any other that we have tried, including the close second, EcoVac (with the horrendous app and customer service). Maybe some of the complaints come from initial software? Ours immediately downloaded software update when we first turned it on. I have read that Dyson has been very diligent releasing updates to the software system, and they are automatically loaded onto your machine. It is possible that these updates have resolved initial issues. What I do know is that the unit performed exactly as expected and as we hoped it would. I give the Dyson my top rating because it gives us exactly what we wanted in a robot vacuum. Rosie is our new best cleaning maid, I mean friend! I 100% recommend purchasing it so long as you understand you are buying a vacuum. ... show more

  • Sent 2 back, not worth the headaches
Number of Items: 1
12/25/2024 - We finally decided to return the vacuum after it crashed 2 times trying to clean 1 room. When it works, it does a great job, but the software is just too buggy. If Dyson comes out with a new model and app, we would give it a try, but this one is more hassle than helper. 12/21/2024 - Update: We've decided to keep this vacuum because when it works, it vacuums carpet extremely well. As long as you know it's limitations, you will be happy with it. Strengths: It vacuums as well as some normal upright vacuums. 1. It cleans carpet extremely well. This is because of its full brush, large debris bin and HEPA filter. Pet fur, dirt and long hair don't stand a chance. Our 2-year-old Roborock can't vacuum up (on carpet) what the Dyson can, even if the Roborock ran 10 times in a row. The Dyson is that good. 2. It has a large dirt bin. This is great for multiple reasons, but mainly because it won't lose suction. Most other robot vacuums state high PA scores, but what they don't tell you is that once their vacuum has picked up some dust, their filters clog and the PA power plummets. The Dyson can really pack in the hair and dirt without any issues. 3. It has a HEPA filter which works well, is washable and replaceable. 4. It's bagless! Yes, that means we have to dump the debris into a trashcan, but that also means we can see how well it's working. I don't know how many times I looked into the Roborock dirt bag just to see if it was getting anything. 5. It deep cleans the carpet. Most Robot vacuums lost suction quickly because their little filters clog easily. This means whatever suction is available is only getting the most easily available dirt. The Dyson doesn't lose suction, so it can do a much better job getting the deeper dirt out of the carpet. Weaknesses: Dyson is awful at software!!! 1. It can't navigate in a dark or dim room, and it can't go under beds. 2. Don't schedule it to clean all the house at once, as it seems to crash often. Schedule one room at a time, and it does much better at cleaning and returning to the dock. 3. Expect the mapping runs to take many attempts. Don't make any room naming mistakes because the only solution is to remap the entire floor. 4. The debris bin is really hard to open most of the time. 5. The battery life is not great, as it has to go back and charge at least one time to clean our 1,500 SFT house. 6. If you've used a more modern robot vacuum app, don't expect Dyson to compete with it. You can set no-go zones, invisible walls and tell it which rooms to not use the brush (suction only), and you can set the suction level per room. That is it. It really is a bargain bin application. The app will not show the vacuum in real time and if it crashes, you get to play find and seek. 7. It doesn't have AI and its obstacle avoidance is abysmal. If you have pet poo, barf, or small toys on the floor, it most likely will hit them. (We only run the vacuum after we've checked and made sure the floor was good to go.) Yes, with so many cons, it's hard to believe that we've decided to keep this vacuum, but after looking and comparing it with Roborock, ECOVACS, eufy, Shark, iRobot, Eureka, dreame, UBPET, and Narwal, we can't find a better robot vacuum for carpet. 12/8/2024 - This is our 2nd Dyson Vis Nav 360 as the 1st one kept crashing and couldn't complete creating an initial mapping run. Returned it (Thank you Amazon) and got this one. Pros: It's a great vacuum when it actually works. The brush is light years better than other robot vacuums, which have that little rubber brush located in the middle of the machine. It does a much better job vacuuming than our Roborock robot vacuum. Wonderfully big bin and great suction. We have 3 cats, and it didn't have any problems picking up cat fur, litter, and dirt. We even let it go into the room where we keep the litter boxes, and it didn't have any issues with all the litter on the floor. This was something we couldn't do with our Roborock. We did a compare and let the Vis Nav run every day for 5 days. We then vacuumed with a bagless dyson to see how well it did. The amount of fur and dirt the bagless picked up was minimal. It was very impressive to see how well the Vis Nav vacuumed when it did work. When compared with our 2 year old roborock, Dyson's Vis Nav cleaning won by a landslide. Cons: The software is AWFUL!! We knew this going in, but wow, the software is terrible. Dyson might be a vacuum company, but it is not a software company, clearly evident by the lack of features, bugs and poorly designed interface. The vacuum crashes 1 out of 5 runs (20% of the time in our experience). (I.E. It just turns itself off wherever it's at). This vacuum model has been out for 2 years, and they still can't even get it to run correctly. Not a good customer experience for sure. The mapping is atrociously bad due to the VSLAM tech they used. It took 2–3 tries just to get a single map complete. Plan on the vacuum taking at least an hour to do it's mapping, even using the latest patch RB03PR.01.08.005. During the mapping, you will need to prevent it from gaining access to anyplace where cables are on the floor. (You know, that spot under your computer desk with tons of power cords and cables.) If you don't block those areas off, the vacuum will dive head first into that cable mess and then get stuck. Once it's stuck, the mapping is over, and you have to start all over again. If the robot crashes while mapping, you have to start over. If the robot stops for any reason, you get to start all over again. When it finally completed our first map, it somehow missed a bathroom and walk in closet. The only way to add the missed rooms to the map was to delete the map and have it do another mapping run. All in all, a very poor experience. VSLAM navigation is terrible. It spent a lot of its time moving and then stopping, for no reason. We laughed and said it was "recalculating", like those old GPS devices in the early 2000's. It constantly got lost and if it can't find where it's at, it crashes. Dyson needs to switch to LiDAR or something else, as VSLAM navigation belongs in the 1990s, not 2024. One example was the vacuum spent 10 minutes trying to fit in between the legs of a chair when it was physically impossible. We had to make several no-go zones just to keep it out of trouble. The map software is ok if the vacuum manages to get all the rooms you want, but it certainly needs some work. I accidentally named a bathroom incorrectly, and there wasn't any way to fix it without deleting the map and have it do another mapping run. Note: the Vis Nav can't add rooms to an existing map. It will vacuum there, but in the software, you can't name it. All in all, don't waste your money or time on this vacuum until Dyson can hire some real software engineers and swap out the VSLAM with a more reliable and functional technology. We will be returning this vacuum because it's just not ready for customers. ... show more

  • Poor functionality with software and interface.

I have used a Neato D7 for 8 years. When they shut down the server we looked to get another "D" shaped vacuum. Dyson was the top choice. We purchased it based on Dyson's reputation and it's claims. Dyson vacuums well and was easy to empty and clean the filter. However, we are used to the Lidar on the Neato. Dyson does NOT use Lidar making it not be able to vacuum in dark places. We had to turn on the lights so it wouldn't get lost or stop cleaning. It also needed sufficient light to find the dock to redock itself. We added a nightlight above the dock so it could find it. In the first week of using the Dyson, it had several errors, mostly that the "airway was blocked". The airway was completely clear and clean. Then it gave a problem error when no problem existed. Had to power it off and back on again to clear the error. I called Dyson support and they were very little help. They told me I needed to delete and reinstall the app. Other problems: we had to map the entire house twice before it got a somewhat accurate map. When it cleans it overlays the cleaning on top of the map. It is not accurate and they don't line up. Although you can create zones, you can NOT schedule to clean different zones. The schedule is for the entire house ONLY. Even cleaning an area of 700 sq ft, it couldn't do it on one battery charge. The software and interface has much to be desired for usability and dependability. I returned the vacuum after 8 days of using it because it failed my expectations miserably. I am spoiled by my Neato D7. ... show more

After 2 months: Chopper (main floor) and Lola (upstairs) still occasionally get stuck but after blocking off the repeat locations (under the kitchen table — 24 chair legs plus table legs just was too much for it, not always getting out from under beds, and getting stuck on certain floor HVAC vents) they have done well. Our house is not pristine or obstacle free so I’m satisfied that other than few repeat problem spots they have done well. The biggest challenge really is to remember to make sure the appropriate doors are open for that days schedule so they can gain access to the rooms. This is less of an issue on the main floor which has an open layout but more of an issue upstairs. That isn’t Lola’s fault. Both have been cleaning very well and there have been full baskets to dump out every two weeks. I’m kind of amazed how much is still accumulating after a couple of months, so performance is good. I do not miss having a mopping feature at all. It’s one less thing to have to maintain and fuss with. So yeah, my floors don’t get mopped by the robots or by me but oh well. My issue has always been more dust, crumbs, random bits of this any that, etc.; not spills, mud, or other stuff that I really needed to mop anyway. 4 stars. Week 2: The long narrow strip of fuzzy material that is on the bottom of the Soleplate Part no. 971709-01 separated form the soleplate. It is presumably there to help protect floors from the metal wires running across the roller. The piece got sucked into the roller and caused an error. It was in my kitchen on the wood floor at the time. I wasted 30 minutes of my life on the Dyson website chat. After asking me 30 minutes of questions and taking 3 minutes to respond each time, he told me to contact Amazon. The Amazon product page says to contact Dyson for missing or broken parts. I still like the product, but middle finger to Dyson chat box service team. Down to 3 stars. --------------------------------------------------------- Day two: Using the App, it was programmed to clean the foyer and living room. I'm vacuuming each room just once a week and I've broken it up into 4 jobs (4 days) with each one being able to be completed with a single battery charge. The job appeared to run flawlessly and cleaned the rooms, but I did learn my wife had to rescue it once when it got trapped under an end table with tight leg fit. Have I mentioned I love the dirt heat map! Also, the App is telling me an assessment of how dirty it expects the room to be next time. Nice touch. I only wish it would allow me to set the minimally dirty rooms that we hardly use (I'm looking at you living/sitting room, dining room, and foyer) for a bi-weekly schedule. ----------------------------------------------------------- Day one unboxing and setup were seamless; the instructions are a simple one-pager paired with an intuitive app. Mapping the first floor of our 4,000-square-foot house took less than an hour. Despite some negative reviews regarding the mapping process, it went smoothly for us—even if the robot’s movements seemed a bit random at times. The app is easy to navigate, and setting up zones only took a little trial and error. On its first run in the family room, it picked up a surprising amount of debris. Honestly, because we aren't big fans of vacuuming ourselves, this robot is already a win simply because it actually gets the job done. It did a solid job on a single pass, and I expect great results once it’s on a regular schedule. Because this model lacks LiDAR, its navigation can be a bit "erratic" (think: slightly tipsy), so keep your expectations realistic. It managed to escape most tight spots, though it did eventually give up in the "forest" of legs under our six-chair kitchen table. It also hesitates over metal HVAC floor vents—likely because the cliff sensors mistake them for a drop-off—but it never actually got stuck. It handled transitions up to an inch high, including fireplace marble and kitchen mats, with grit if not total grace. Overall, I’m very happy with my first day. It covered the entire main floor efficiently and is much quieter than I anticipated. I’m especially impressed with the "dirt heat map"—seeing the high-traffic, messier areas visualized is a great feature. While it lacks a real-time progress map, I don’t plan on staring at the app while it works anyway. I like the performance enough that I’ve already ordered a second unit for the upstairs. If I can get two or three years of service out of these, I’ll be satisfied. Hopefully, by then, other models will have caught up to the impressive cleaning power this unit offers at such a great clearance price. ... show more

  • Beautiful hardware - another update
Number of Items: 1
I am now on the third one: two replacements plus one "repair" and nothing has been improved. It quits randomly, and I have to pick it up and carry it to the charger. But cleans well while it's running. If they can't fix this problem they should, at least put a handle on it to make it easier pick up and carry. I've had several sessions with Dyson support, and I can convince them that it's not working, but what's the point? They're following a checklist and know very little. I wish I could talk to someone who knows something. Once in a while I will give it a go via the app to see it there has been an update. I wish the best for Dyson. I think they need to start over with the software. The earlier report: I have owned three other smart, whole-house robo vacs, and I say the design of the Dyson 360 is the only one that is not a toy. This is a brilliantly designed machine that can actually do a thorough cleaning. It has a wide roller and addresses edge cleaning seriously. Unfortunately, the software needs work. It reported a System Malfunction during the first week. Customer Service was helpful and had me send the unit directly to Dyson. They replaced it with a new one which after a reasonable mapping has yet to execute the map entirely. It tends to run its battery down before getting back to the charger. In the first run it stopped almost immediately, reporting that the bin was full or a that there was an obstruction. This was a false report. Then it got stuck on the edge of a chair base and ran its battery down. I shifted it away about four inches, keeping the orientation the same, and it wandered aimlessly around the room. (Others would have recovered from this.) So I picked it up and set it facing the charger base less than a foot away, and it did not recognize the base. Every other robo vac that I've had would home to the base in that situation. This one seems to rely on the visual image of the base, and if it's addled brain is not expecting the base, it will not respond to it. After the initial mapping it seems to insist on dividing the the floor plan into rooms. This takes some fiddling and is not a feature I want. Nevertheless, I made one division, so the house is effectively two rooms. So far it has not gotten into the second room. It completes the first room on one battery charge, returns to the base, recharges, and then spends several minutes going nowhere. Except last night I found it had stopped a few inches short of the base on the first pass. Original UPDATE: The replacement unit began giving an error "air passages blocked," but they definitely were not blocked. Called Dyson support. Had to demonstrate no blockage via video. Was told the problem was the filter, which I knew was not true since it was like new. They insisted on sending a new filter. Then the problem went away (before the filter came) but then the unit began stopping randomly after a few minutes into the cleaning. So they're sending a new unit. It would have been easier and probably quicker to return it to Amazon, but I wanted to give Dyson the benefit of my experience. I do hope they get the bugs fixed, because the hardware is a brilliant design. ... show more

Number of Items: 1
So, I am not really sure why others are having problems with this brilliant device (unless they were shipped a defective product, which I believe to be extremely rare - if ever - with Dyson). Maybe it's because I have a fairly small two bedroom apartment, and not a house? Not so sure. I happen to really, really love it. For me, anyway, the app is easy to use. The mapping was a cinch. Granted, I did it twice, but that was because it was a learning experience for both me and the robot. I didn't mind. Will it clean as well as a human with a vacuum in hand? Yes and no.
