  • Does what it claims, simple, zero issues.
Bought 6 months ago, assumed at the time I'd eventually get a higher amperage L2 for the house and keep this as backup/road trips. Been using this exclusively on 120V outlet. Provides me w/ around 1.75KW of power. With typical use (driving to work and back (~50-60 mile round trip).. day out shopping, etc) it either keeps up with overnight charging, or it doesn't fall so far behind that I can't catch up on the weekend. I'm just about to finally install a NEMA 6-20R outlet to do 240V charging with this because there's been a couple of times when we've gotten back from a road trip on Sunday evening with only ~10-20% battery left.. and this charger requires around 26 hours to charge my Kia EV6 back up from 20%-80% on 120V. I usually charge in the garage but it's been unavailable due to some work-tables being setup recently. Had this out in the driveway through some serious rains and it is waterproof. 5-stars because it does exactly what it claims, it's flexible (120V or 240V charging), it's inexpensive, it's dead-simple (just works), and I've had absolutely zero issues with it for half a year now. Sure, it doesn't connect to WIFI and require yet another app on my phone.. but my Car gives me all that functionality already. K.I.S.S. EDIT (jan 2024): FINALLY got around to installing a split-phase 240V outlet for this.. mostly because the recent below-zero weather was running my battery down more than usual. This charger worked at L2 power without a problem. Now charing at around 3.75KW.. about 5% of my EV6 battery capacity every hour. I've been tempted to purchase & install a higher current L2 charger, but It's hard to justify the additional cost when this will now recharge about 50% of my car's battery capacity overnight. There hasn't been a single time over the past ~2 years when I've needed to charge faster at home. ... show more

  • Fantastic!
I wanted a charger that could do 110 or 200 to charge my Chevy Volt. Currently using it on 110 volt, as my plan was to install a 220 outlet to maximize the charging. Turns out, my Volt doesn't charge all that quickly and this charger easily charges it to full overnight on 110. It is sturdy and just works without fussing with it. ... show more

  • Great EV Charger after a year+ of use
Purchased 8/22/2021 for $182.33 new before tax Today is 10/17/2022. I've been using this charger every day since I got it. I rent a garage in my apartment complex where I keep this plugged in with my J1772 adapter for my '14 Tesla Model S. I find this works perfect for my needs. It charges my car at about 2kWh on 15amp/116volts. On 10/7/2022 the Nema 6-20R adapter cable got really hot and overheated. No longer would it charge my car. I ordered another 5-15 to 6-20 adapter cable and it's been charging fine for the past week or so on it. No complaints on this mobile EV charging system. ... show more

  • Works great
Thus unit is good if you have limited power available. I had access to an existing 20a circuit in my garage. Was more cost effective than wiring a new higher amp circuit. Not as fast as a higher capacity interface, but works for me. Has never faulted when charging my Mach-E extended range. Has caused our C-Max to charge-fault, but we normally charge that on a level 1 charger. Solid unit for the money. ... show more

  • Wish the plug was a right angle 14-50P
The purpose of this charger is to be able to charge anywhere. It does that. But I really wish two things were different and those two things are worth deducting a star. First, the plug should be a right angle plug. The voltage converter box is a weight in the cord just a few feet from the wall. If it was a right angle plug, it wouldn't pull the cord out of the socket, but since it's a straight plug, it does pull the cord out of the socket. A right angle plug would fix that. Second, the 6-20 outlet is rare. So rare that I'll bet you probably don't have one in your house. Until you pay to install a 6-20 outlet, you're using this in a typical 110V (5-15) outlet. But if you're going to pay to install a 6-20 outlet, why not install a 14-50 outlet? That's the outlet you really want for an EV charger. This charger will only draw 16A from the bigger outlet but it will work fine. This charger's special trick, of working on 110V or 220V will still make it useful. I'd buy it again, but if I was in the room when the discussion around plugs was happening, I'd do my darndest to convince the rest of the team to go with a 14-50P right angle plug. ... show more

  • Old faithful...tried and true!
The best bang, no frills, reliable for the buck "dumb" EVSE out there. It goes by many names and is sold under many under rebrands, but gets the job done as a Level 1 and Level 2 EVSE. I bought this to use until I got my 14-50 outlet installed and picked out a more } powerful 40A EVSE. Once I got the 14-50 installed, I bought a 14-50 adapter, plugged it in, and charged for a few months until I settled on an AmpRoad EVSE. Got this below $200 so if you can, wait it out... ... show more

  • Solid Basic EVSE
This is a basic, but solid EVSE cable that I bought to keep in my VW ID.4, which no longer ships with an EVSE. I have used a similar model in my garage for about 5 years to charge a Nissan Leaf. While this unit charges at a maximum of only 16 amps, that's a trade-off I don't mind making, as I was able to use it on a new dedicated 20 amp circuit that I installed in my garage for less than $100. If you go this route, just remember that at 240v/16 amps, you will be able to add only about 3.8 kW per hour to your EV. For the ID.4, that's about 12 hours to charge from 20% to 80%. That works for me, but if you need faster charging rates, you'll need to buy a different EVSE that can charge at more amps, and install a 40-50 amp circuit and much heavier gauge electrical wiring. ... show more
