Yes this is an expensive toaster, but making perfect toast or bagels in the morning is important to me. Compared to other top of the line and similarly priced toasters (like Dualit, Wolf, Smeg, etc), the R180 Connect Plus has some great unique features, including the photo frame where I can see my family and dog photos, current weather which I like to see before I leave the house in the morning, and the ability to receive over the air software updates when new features become available. Best of all, it has great toasting performance due to the preprogrammed bread types. I never burn anything, and I don’t have to pop the toast up to check if it is over toasted or not toasted enough. Everything pretty much comes out exactly as I set it for. And I also should add that it makes great panini sandwiches with the toastie press. Sure I can make toast with a $30 unit, but this is a luxury product with features that are worthwhile to me. I also used to think this was too much to pay for a toaster until I started using one that our office purchased. I was hooked!

Let me start with I sent this particular toaster back. There was nothing wrong with it but I realized I didn’t order the one with the toastie press. Upon research, it was more economical to return the one I purchased and get the one with the press. Toastie press separately is $80. Only $30 more getting it with upgrade through Amazon. I did plug it in to see how it looked. Very easy to connect to WiFi. Had many levels for bread toasting. I did not want to try it since I knew I was sending it back. Return was extremely easy and Amazon was quick with refund. I have ordered the new one and will post my review once I receive it Updated review: Got the new toaster in today. First off, even though the $399 toaster says it allows pictures to be uploaded, it doesn’t. This smart toaster is worth the extra $30.! Not only can you add your favorite photos as a screen saver, you get the toastie press ($80 separate) and the warming rack ($30 separate). You also get a 2 year warranty from the manufacturer. You don’t have to connect to WiFi but the benefits are really nice…weather for your area, updates, personal screen saver. I love all the different options for toasting different breads, pastries etc. It lowers your bread, lets you choose the darkness, shows you how long is left and once done, lets you know. This toaster Is amazing and definitely worth the money!

The absolute best toaster I have ever owned. A bit pricey, but well worth the cost. Love the output and controls screen. I also bought the pannini press attachment separately and just love it. Makes the best grilled sandwiches.

Huge shoutout to the Consumer Care Team for making things right. Thank you RevCook! I love my R180 Connect Plus Revolution Toaster so much! It really adds a nice touch to my kitchen as it slideshows all the wonderful and fun moments that I’ve captured on camera, it’s nice to see some of those photos being displayed on the toaster’s screen while I’m in the kitchen. The toaster does an exceptional job getting the right toast on my bread and it’s very quick to do so too! Always looking forward to toasting some bread on it! I don’t regret buying this toaster. Highly recommend it.

I received an item that was clearly returned previously, and obviously not inspected properly and as soon as it came out of the box, you could see it had been used, and the touchscreen is frozen and would not operate at all. I returned the item and was charged a return fee of almost $100. Absolutely unacceptable For this piece of junk. I would give it zero stars if that was an option.

$400 for a toaster seems a bit silly but I do love this thing. I uploaded some basic art to the gallery feature, connected it to my Wi-Fi to show my local weather, and the clock syncs with my local time (no more needing to update another clock manually). Some common questions I had when looking at this. This version does have a gluten-free mode and has a ton of bread types. Not all bread types are supported in the Gluten Free mode but there are still more options than the nonsmart "270" which had fewer bread types according to the reading on it. There is no app for this device when you want to upload the images you scan a QR code and do it from your mobile device. Outside of that, the performance for my bread has been quite good for toasting I run it at around a 4 for my thin cuts that's my personal taste.

I like all the items you can toast. People claim not exactly like the picture when they toast a item but I found different brands of breads do slightly differ in toast color, probably because of bread mixture it was made from. I like it retains settings so once set you just put your waffle or pancake or toast in it and no more guessing. I like it.

Does toast wonderfully. Simple stupid to work. Select the type of bread, select from the screen the color you want it to come out, press the button, it takes the bread down, toasts it perfectly, and sends it back up. There are two things that are sadly missing. 1st, it does NOT fit anything larger than standard bread loaves. If you buy artisan breads that are longer or wider than the slot provided, you end up having to pick a much lighter setting then flipping it over and dealing with the middle being too toasted and the ends being just right, or cutting your bread in half then putting it in. Really should have a larger slice capability. AND there are a number of breads that it doesn't have. Rye, pumpernickel, etc. Multigrain kind of works for that, but for the price I expected more or better. Not to say it's not awesome, but it's far from perfect.
