No more lifetime, kink-free, multi-ply, vinyl hoses for me - or ugly rubber hoses that rubs off on your hands, etc. Think about this: For a few dollars more than store-bought rubber, you can have a premium rubber hose that is very flexible, light weight (yes), quality looking, corrosion resistant heavy duty fittings, and rubber is crush resistant on the hose reel resulting in higher water pressure. (life is easier with a good hose reel) And my purty yellow hose just makes it a nicer day. (you'll see) Complaints about the continuous lettering are unfounded, because the lettering is faded and hardly noticeable 12 feet away. Kink free? There's no such thing. Like all good hoses the directions say, "Unwind (unroll) the hose on a +70 degree day - DO NOT pull the hose to uncoil it as this may cause unnecessary kinking". (twisting the hose) And let it lay out a while. Then if you get a kink, it pulls right out. Know why the lettering? So you can see if your hose is twisted. Any long hose full of water is going to feel heavier when pulling it around corners and such. Gather a few links with you - the hose will feel lighter and it's less wear and tear on the hose. Like any quality product, learn to take care of it and love it. BTW, Dramm e-mailed me right back with technical questions I had. UPDATE 8/26/18. I still love this hose. Buying 2 more. Unintentionally left it out to freeze this winter without draining. Come spring, no problems. Although it's well used and dirtier now, this is still a very good looking yellow hose. It doesn't mold and cleans up nicely by just running a wet glove over it. OK, let's set the record strait. This is definitely a heavy duty hose, but it's flexibility makes it feel lighter, dragging it over concrete, around bushes, trees, brick edging, etc. And after several years of abuse it doesn't balloon - it's still just over 7/8"OD - skinny as heavy duty goes. I really like the look and feel of this octagon shaped covering. I'm convinced that's what gives it strength without increasing the diameter (which would make it stiffer and heavier). This octagon shape aids in occasional kink removal with nothing more than just a shake, without leaving "memory" creases. Folks, you gotta roll this premium, heavy duty hose up on a hose reel, especially if you're running 100' or more. It's not made for coiling it up, hanging it on a nail or stuffing it in a jar, like some people I read. Don't drag it by it's end fittings or around sharp objects, and this may be the last hose you'll ever buy. ... show more

This hose is the best of what a hose is supposed to do and not do after 65 years of hoses This is with the outside 6-sides(hexagon) design and inside design of the DRAMM Garden Hose Under pressure it is AMAZINGLY easy to unkink AND RESIST KINKING of any hose I have ever had. A gentle tug or shake will relax a kink almost all the time. Connection hardware is the best and what I would expect to last a very long time. It is not, I repeat not stiff and awkward to handle. If Dramm says the inside diameter &fittings five eights inch, it is at least that not This one 20 year lasting HoSE will COST less than six or seven other cheap hoses That are ALWAYS stiff and always hard to handle. ... show more

This is a big boy hose. It’s heavy, it’s expensive, but it’s definitely the best hose i’ve found. I read a lot of hose reviews on multiple sites and most of them pointed to this hose. A cheap plastic reel is probably not the best option for this hose. I have a 50 ft and A 75 ft attached to each other and the reel and it covers my entire front and back yard. I found an all metal wagon-style reel with four big rubber wheels that makes it super easy to get from one hose hookup to the next (especially if you add quick connect/releases). My one complaint is that I wish they charged a straight price per foot so that I could have got one of each color and been the weird neighbor with the rainbow hose. ... show more

While the color selections are a nice change from the big box store offerings and the fittings seem to be quality, neither makes up for the hose's love of getting kinky. Unless you store this hose on a reel it isn't possible to uncoil, use and recoil without feeling like you're fighting a serpent. I do not recommend this hose. ... show more

I water a herd of cattle in all four seasons, including the bitter cold winters of Wisconsin! I was getting sick of buying 100'-150' of new hose a couple times a year from local hardware stores that just went to heck after awhile (leaking, busting open). Especially, in the cold, basic hoses just can't handle it. I heard about Dramm hoses and researched more about them and their ColorStorm line is exactly what I needed. It is more expensive on the front end, but I figured it would pay for itself in a year or two because I won't be buying new hoses all the time (and not taking old hoses to the landfill all the time). So far, the 100' of hose I bought is living up to expectations. It's right around 0 degrees this morning when I went to water the cattle and the hoses are awesome! They still coil easy like they say and not a drop of leakage at any connection point, so the tanks fill up faster. The last thing that sold me on Dramm hoses was the Lifetime Warranty, so even if the hose malfunctions or something down the road, its covered. Dramm must put a lot of pride into its products. I needed a hose that I could call upon at a moments notice for a blast of water--to neutralize the nitrogen in my doggies' urine. This is the only hose that can withstand constant exposure to water pressure without bursting. Now, I can quickly and easily give a spot where my fur babies pee a 10-second squirt of water and eliminate the resulting spot of dead grass. Cons are that the hose is heavy and can easily kink.
