  • DR bass strings
Style: Guitar Strings
Well, so i just put these strings on my bass because i wanted heavier gauge strings obviously only because i like the feel of thicker strings on my fingertips. I tune standard EADG so there was no problem when i put these on, they actually feel great and sound great as well. My only disappointment was that while i am tuning the G string, it breaks on the tuners side, it just popped right away. That was not the best experience after trying these strings for the first time but other than that, very good strings if you like thicker strings on your Beast. ... show more

  • Good sound quality
Style: Guitar Strings
Good sound quality. They're perfect for lower tuning songs as the name suggests. The 115 low string has good sound and went as low as C# without getting too floppy. I enjoyed them on my low tuned basses. However, were not good enough for every day use. I found the sound to be bright and well rounded, which is needed for such low tunings to cut through the mix otherwise you sound like mud. The strings do not last very long. After about 3 weeks of moderate to serious playing they go dead. Never broke one, but always replaced them out of lack of tone. ... show more

  • Not a quality product
Style: Guitar Strings
As a bassists who has multiple basses and leverages multiple tunings, I was excited to try out these DDTs for my drop tuning songs. Went to tune after all strings were on and the E uncoils at the peg. I am giving it two stars because the other strings (at this time) work and they sound good. However, I have to spend more money to get another pack just to replace this E string. ... show more

  • Dr DDT bass strings
Style: Guitar Strings
I don’t know because when I tried to put the low #4 string on it snapped before I put full tension. I didn’t string my bass right away so I can’t return this item. So I need to buy another set and keep the other three around in case I break a string. I don’t know if I trust them for that even. I would not recommend this item. ... show more

  • DR Strings continue to deliver
Style: Guitar Strings
Always fantastic strings from DR. This specific set feels great for a down tuned bass. I'm playing a Fender Geddy Lee jazz in C# standard for attack and lots of gutsy notes. Closest I've found to normal feeling strings in such a low tuning.

  • Only strings I use
Style: Guitar Strings
I have a Traben Phoenix 4 string bass that is extra long scale. I play in drop C (CGCF) and these strings hold their tuning better than any other string on the market. The intonation is spot on up all 24 frets. I will not get any other strings for my bass - DR DDT for life!

  • HORRIBLE
Style: Guitar Strings
The first pack I got, the .115 gauge came unwound as I was tuning up. Amazon customer support rushed me out a new pack no problem and I got it the day of my show. While we were getting everything going, I was restringing my bass. SAME. FREAKING. THING! So, thanks to DR and their crap strings, I had to use a bass with .105 strings to tune to drop B. Guess how good THAT sounded? Sorry DR, I've tried a few times with your other strings, didn't really like those, but I tried. These things are horrid. Would not recommend them to anyone. Also, Amazon's customer support is fantastic. Who's awesome? You guys. ... show more

  • Not worth the money....
Style: Guitar Strings
I just received these today (3-8-13) and was very excited about them. I play in a heavy metal band that tunes to CDCF and my ernie ball super slinky 45s weren't cutting it, so I ordered these. I started putting them on and the tone was great. Once I but on the 4th string (C), it was just about tuned and it snapped. Maybe this was a fluke, but for someone that plays shows, this is completely unacceptable to have a string designed for low tuning, not be able to tune to C. No way these would tune any higher. I would avoid these. I ordered Ernie Ball power slinky 55s (same gauge as these DDTs) ... show more
