  • Excellent Quality for Metal/Rock/Jazz
Size: Med. Blues/Jazz Rock, Wound 3rd, 11-49 Style: 1-Pack
D'Adarrio might cost a few bucks more than most of their competitors, but you're getting quality and a sound that will make you smile everytime you string up again. I've been a loyal D'Addario fan for over 20 years and they are always my Go-To for strings for any gauge I might need or want to try out. These strings are perfect for metal/rock/jazz and detuned tunings like drop C. Also, their customer service is amazing and their loyalty program is awesome since you can earn points for free strings or other music related items. I don't see too many companies doing that for their customers nowadays, so they have earned my loyalty for life going above any beyond like that. ... show more

  • Same great strings, always just right.
Size: Super Light, 9-42 Style: 3-Pack
I have used these same strings for close to 30 years. IMO, they are just the right string for the styles of music that I play. Not too bright, not too dark. I find stainless strings to be too "zingy" for me, and they wear frets much faster. Pure nickel-wound strings sound too dull. These are the best of both worlds. I honestly cannot remember having a bad D'Addario string, and I worked in guitar shops for many years putting these very strings on other people's guitars. I think that they are the standard to which I measure all other strings. ... show more

  • Still my choice after years
Size: Super Light, 9-42 Style: 3-Pack
I’ve been playing for decades, and have tried many different strings through the years. Daddario is what I end up coming back to. They hold up well, have good tone that lasts (not a fan of strings that sound super bright until they break in, then have a limited time in the sweet spot for tone), and retain a good feel for a long time. There’s a reason the company has been around for so long! ... show more

  • If there ARE better strings, they cost way too much.
Size: Regular Light, 10-46 Style: 3-Pack
It's been so long since I bought a set of strings that wasn't D'addario (when Elixers first came out maybe?) that the last time I went into a brick & mortar music shop I was actually a little surprised at how many other companies are making guitar strings. Quality is excellent and objectively better than Martin or Ernie Ball. I have never found a serious flaw. Nuff said. ... show more

  • D’Addario forever
Size: Super Light, 9-42 Style: 3-Pack
I’ve been using these for 33 years. I put these on all my guitars and every guitar I repair. They are bright, and that brightness seems to last longer than others I have tried. They are stable in tuning and I have never broken a string that wasn’t due to my own negligence. 100% recommend them to everyone. ... show more

  • Great quality overall!
Size: Lt. Top/Hvy. Bottom, 10-52 Style: 3-Pack
I love playing E and D# Standard with heavier strings, way more percussive feeling and they don't feel loose, while still being good for Lead, and they don't rust nearly as fast as Earnie Balls or Dr. Strings, favorite set I've had so far!

  • Excellent strings
Size: Jazz Light, 12-52 Style: 1-Pack
I’ve used these on most of my electric guitars for years. I don’t like changing strings often and only change them when they lose intonation. These check those boxes. The string gauges and wound G string won’t appeal to string benders, but can be great for jazz.

  • Not as good as StringJoy but works in a pinch
Size: Regular Light, Balanced Tension, 10-46 Style: 1-Pack
I typically use the StringJoy brand strings and they last forever and sound incredible and feel even better. These are definitely not that, but are night and day better than Ernie ball strings. These definitely have a nice clear tone and feel good. They don’t last nearly as long as StringJoy strings, but do a good job as a backup set in your case if you break a string because they’re cheap. If they’re on sale, I would probably grab a few sets. ... show more
