Description

The first thing you will notice about these strings is that they go right into tune and lock in. Players say they are “so stable it is almost eerie.” Now you can stand and deliver in tune notes at lower pitch that are clean and clear. Expect more and get more. Change tunings and be surprised how DDT's lock right in. Be surprised how little adjustments you make. DDTs deliver far more than just heavy gauges. Drop with confidence, drop with accuracy. DDTs maintain their intonation at lower tunings far better than any other string we have ever played or heard. Designed over a two year build and test period to answer the needs of the dark side. From the Manufacturer DDT™ Drop Down Tuning Bass Strings go right into tune and lock in thanks to Accurate Core Technology™ (ACT™), a coated hexagonal core wire that locks the stainless-steel wrap wire in place to increase stability and maintain intonation at any tension. Now you can deliver notes at lower pitch that are clean, clear and in tune. Change tunings and DDT's lock right in and require little to no adjustment between play.

  • Best I’ve Used!
Style: DDT™ Bass: 5-String Medium to Heavy 45-125
Have had my 5 string Bass since 2005, I’ve had many of brands and types, These are by far the best Strings I’ve used!! I’m on my second set of them for this Bass now. ThanX!! 🤘

  • Exactly the tone and feel I wanted
Style: DDT™ Bass: 5-String Medium to Heavy 45-125
I don't like a mid heavy tone like what I get more with nickel plated strings, but most stainless wrapped strings just have too much "zingy" highs giving a clankiness with too luch string noise. These have way less of the super bright highs and retain clarity, deep punchy bass, and don't have those ugly mids I hate. There is a little "zingy/clanky" to them brand new, which I can get rid of with a slight adjustment with the active preamp on my bass (Norstrand pre and pickups). Doubt I will even have to do that once they are really broken in. I have set my amp closer to flat than I ever have. ... show more

  • DDT's are my new favorite
Style: DDT™ Bass: 5-String Medium to Heavy 45-125
I tossed the G string and filed the nut on a 32" 4-string. I now have a mid scale BEAD with great tension that stays in tuned. Sweet!

  • Good Stuff!
Style: DDT™ Bass: Medium 45-105
Love DR strings. The DDT series seem to hold true to their intended purpose. I tune to C# standard and find these to be a great fit. Although I enjoy trying new strings, I always come back to or have sets of DR's on hand for my bass. Good stuff.

  • Half step down without the frown
Style: DDT™ Bass: 5-String Medium to Heavy 45-125
I play a half step down. These sound great. The tone is there and stays at about 90% until one day the tone just dies. I prefer this l since these don't really gradually lose tone like other strings. I get about two months out of them and they sound and feel fantastic that whole time. The tension is about the same as a .130 gauge string in standard when you tune these a half step down. Perfect in my opinion. Also, follow the instructions inside the box on how to string them. They do last longer when you follow the instructions. ... show more

  • Not Good, I'll be sticking with Hi Beams
Style: DDT™ Bass: 5-String Medium to Heavy 45-125
Full disclosure, I've been a Hi Beam user for over 20 years, that's the sound I love and expect. Bright punchy tone with plenty of "ZING" if you want it. These strings sound flat and clunky. They don't sound dead like the Fat Beams I tried years ago did, but not far off from that. There's zero resonance, punch or brightness to these strings. I guess it has something to do with the core structure. I tried these on my Spector Euro 5 LX that had light gauge Hi Beams on it because I was having issues tuning flat to match a guitarist I'm working with. The low B string was unstable and rattled a lot, which is to be expected. So I figured I would give these a try and quite frankly, the light gauge strings sounded better even with all their problems. If you don't want the punchy highs and zing the Hi Beams give you, you can just dial it out with your preamp. But if it's not there to begin with, as with these DDT strings, you're stuck with what you've got. I'll never stray from Hi Beams again, just move up a gauge when I need to. ... show more

  • Not impressed..
Style: DDT™ Bass: Medium 45-105
I bought these based on a recommendation from a reputable source as it was time to change my strings out. My ESP LTD TA-204 FRX played beautifully and had no buzzing anywhere on the neck. Maybe I just got a bad batch? But now it's hard to find a place that doesn't have an awful buzzing sound. Think I'll be going back to D'Addario. ... show more
