Description

The first thing you will notice about these strings is that they go right into tune and lock in. Players say they are “so stable it is almost eerie.” Now you can stand and deliver in tune notes at lower pitch that are clean and clear. Expect more and get more. Change tunings and be surprised how DDT's lock right in. Be surprised how little adjustments you make. DDTs deliver far more than just heavy gauges. Drop with confidence, drop with accuracy. DDTs maintain their intonation at lower tunings far better than any other string we have ever played or heard. Designed over a two year build and test period to answer the needs of the dark side. From the Manufacturer DDT™ Drop Down Tuning Bass Strings go right into tune and lock in thanks to Accurate Core Technology™ (ACT™), a coated hexagonal core wire that locks the stainless-steel wrap wire in place to increase stability and maintain intonation at any tension. Now you can deliver notes at lower pitch that are clean, clear and in tune. Change tunings and DDT's lock right in and require little to no adjustment between play.

  • Finally, a solid set for down tuning!
Style: Guitar Strings
I play in a metal band and tune down to drop C (I know, I could buy a 5-string, yada, yada, but I'm not). I've always had some problems with tension on my low string, but learned to live with it. I've been playing Ernie Ball 2831 Nickel Wound Power Slinky Bass String Set (55 - 110)(110-55) for awhile now, but I saw these and had to give them a try. I even tried the GHS H3045 Heavy Gauge Bass Boomers Bass Strings (115-50) but lost all tone; sounded pretty muddy, though the tension was better. When I first put these strings on my first thought was, "Where have you been all my life?!" I mean, wow, what a difference. I have a good amount of tension, allowing me to play quads, the tone is full and thick, but bright at the same time. Gives a nice crunch when used with a pick. These cost a bit more than I'd like, but that's just fine. These strings are brilliant. Where other strings would go out of tune after awhile, or the intonation would be way off higher up on the neck, these are impressively spot-on. Nice job, DR, you've converted a long time Ernie Ball string player. And I'm even playing on an Ernie Ball bass. (Shhh, don't tell anyone) ... show more

  • These will tame the brightness without having to change pickups .
Style: Guitar Strings
I’ve used DR strings on all my bass guitars . I mostly play metal , stoner , sludge and top heavy blues . If you play in C standard or lower , I highly recommend these . The bottom string is where you will get that earth rattling you obsess over. It’s a no brainer . These ARE the best strings and they will stay tuned through you’re whole set .Currently using these on my Warwick and it sounds like thunder . Go for it ! ... show more

  • Sounds great
Style: Guitar Strings
They sound awesome but I cant tell a difference in the tension when d tuning compared to other strings. I was hoping they would be more tight when tuned below B

  • Bend the string before you cut it. It will keep the wraps tight.
Style: Guitar Strings
Best strings I've ever used for C-standard tuning. Even the 45-105 set for E-standard is amazing. The very expansive midrange helps cut through guitars like a "warm" vorpal sword. That's right! I said warm and cut through! No other bass string I know can accomplish this. Not even DR's other string sets! And the growl! It's like holding on to a lions throat when he roars! I've been playing bass in metal, alternative, punk, shoegazer & prog bands since 1989. I've played strings from everyone out there. None of them can touch DR DDT strings. I've been playing them now for 3 years and I won't play anything else. ... show more

  • Monstrous!!! Monstrous!!!
Style: Guitar Strings
If anyone asks what the hell is that, just tell em it's 2.6 on the Richter Scale. Like good ol'Jack Burton always says at time like this,if some cocky guitar tech tries to ask you have you strung your Bass with those DDT - DR strings and you look that guitar tech in the eyes and say, "only so I can shake the heavens" 🐷🐷🐷 ... show more

  • Just What I Wanted
Style: Guitar Strings
This set was perfect for me; might not be for everyone. If you're considering them, ask yourself if the low B string (the 4th at 125) will seat itself fully in your bridge nut? So, if using a 'round' file on it scares you, go with a smaller gauge set. Again, wow, I love this set of strings, I prefer the lower register, and I used to buy 5 string sets for my 4 string Spector. This of course meant I had to pay extra money for a G string I'd never use. Rock on, tv ... show more

  • Not 4 everyone
Style: Guitar Strings
Didn't really like these. The tone was bad and no matter how I adjusted the action, there was still major fret buzz. I like DR strings, just not these.
