The heater has two built- in tip-over protection circuits to ensure the utmost safety. It offers safe, clean, instant and odorless carbon infrared heat, providing you with maximum comfort for your winter activity indoor or outdoor. It also offers 3 heat output settings 900W, 1200W and 1500W to meet your needs. DR-338 is made with durable and weatherproof anodized aluminum for years of outdoor use. I was attempting to warm a outside smoking area in a nursing home in southern Oregon. It’s radiant heat rather then forced induction or fan blown heaters. It’s holding its own so far were all still smoking in winter months but 2 of them would have been better

Appreciate the long 12.5' cord that comes with the tripod version, it is handy. However, this heater is best for a small space, in our attached one car garage, it needs to be fairly close to where you're at to feel warmth.

As others have said this unit will only heat up the immediate area directly in front of it. I used it in a unheated garage in the NW. Unit worked well but it can really only heat up the area about 6 ft out directly in front of it. Don't expect more.

I set this up in my garage for some heat while watching football with the neighbors. It’s made well, easy to set up but unless you are directly in front of it, your not getting any heat. If it had an oscillating feature that would be perfect.
