  • Rough, But The Company Came Through
Color: Red
UPDATE: 21 June 2022: This is a follow up to my review below. The text below is still valid but the company reached out to me and made good on its promise of having satisfied customers. It took awhile. The company was going through a re-organization, factory wise and administratively. They apologized profusely concerning the chair and explained there (I didn't quite understand) either is now or will be a redesign of the chair. As far as comfort of the chair it was pretty good. If there is indeed a redesign and it takes care of the problems I had, then I would recommend the chair. I really liked the color - a dark maroon more than red. Also the chair was a good looking chair. As I indicated, it took awhile but if a company is going through a re-organization, I can understand why it took it took 6 months. If nothing else, their customer service is very good and responsive. I leaned over and not very far at that and over I went. I scraped my arm on a chrome wire kitchen cart I use for my copier and copy paper, etc and landed on my left wrist which hurts like crazy. I don't think it is broken or chipped because I can still move my fingers but it hurts when I try to touch my thumb to any one of my fingers and when I try to button a shirt there is a lot of pain. At least I landed on the seat back of the chair so did not hurt my back but scuffed up the back of the chair. I received the chair with the left hinge bent a bit. It looked like it came out of the factory that way because the box when delivered was pristine. The hinges are stamped out and in this case also left the edges fairly sharp so I filed the edges down before taking a chance of cutting a finger. The bent hinge was a real pain trying to get the seat back matching the seat bottom and and took me the better part of 4 hours trying to get that right so the back would fit correctly to the bottom. The legs are not long enough which makes the chair very top heavy. I am 6' tall and weigh 210 - not extremely big but not petite by any means. The chair itself is ok for the price. I don't see it as a long lasting 10 year chair though like my last one which I picked up used even and which this chair is replacing. i wouldn't complain about the bent hinge if I hadn't leaned over and fell on my but - yes I know how to spell it. I cannot recommend this model chair because of the short legs and stability problem. The chair looks nice in pictures but again the legs are not long enough. The office chair I was replacing had the seat cushion finally squished down to nothing. I think that was some of my back problems but the legs were long and very very stable. One could lean over almost to the floor it seemed and never have to worry about tipping all the way over. This chair is also a little wobbly also but I think most office chairs are to a certain extent. I mean they have one 2-3" center post holding up the seat cushion and the rest of the chair and that's all. Maybe if the center post attaching the chair to the legs was 6" round they may not be wobbly but I have never seen any like that. My 17 year old daughter said, yes! papa get a gaming chair when I showed her the chair on Amazon because gamers sit in their chairs for hours. I have to say it fits me very well. The back bolster is too big as someone else commented on so took if back off so cannot review the bolster nor the vibrator part of it. As mentioned, I really like the color - it is a dark dark red. I think it is a handsome chair in that color. It was easy to assemble until I got to the bent left hinge. To make matters worse, the right hinge bolt holes were oblong so there was plenty of adjustment for attaching the back but the left hinge had one bolt hole oblong which allowed for adjustment on the seat bolt but the bolt going into the back was a completely round hole just big enough for the bolt so no adjustment at all - if it had been oblong with some adjustment capability it would have saved me a lot of time. I probably should have sent it back but I had it all laid out on my floor and half put together, then all put together but the back did not fit to the bottom. Who's going to take it completely apart, package it all back up and ship it back. Besides I figured I could get the hinge straightened out without too much trouble. Not. And YES it squeaks when you rock. Someone else mentioned that also. An office chair (gaming chair in this case) should not squeak at least not when it's new. The rocking part is good with plenty of rocking, in fact some people may not like the "long" reach but I like it alot - (as stated in Amazon's description, you can also lock the chair so it does not rock at all). It lays down completely flat. Its a bit of a problem getting back up but when you're laying straight out it feels like a zero gravity chair and is quite comfortable. It IS a bit to get back up though. it has an infinite number of seat back positions. The completely up position is good for desk work and probably some gaming but when the back is straight up it IS straight up. Am I a happy camper? No. Will I continue to use the chair? Probably. I can't afford another chair so I'll just be super careful. I rated it 2 stars for gaming again because of the stability problem from the too short legs. I am not a gamer but my daughter tells me they can get quite "involved" when gaming. I rated it 4 stars for support because the seat cushion part and the back I think are very supportive. The seat and back are NOT soft like some office chairs. I would rate this chair like German cars with their (generally speaking) very firm seats but which allows for driving miles and miles and not be sore where as most American cars have cushy soft seats that feel good at first but after a few of hours one wants to get out of them. That's the way this chair is, like the German car seats and I like the firmness because it offers more long term support, at least in my opinion. I know this has been lengthy but I hope it will help some people with their decision making. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Color: Grey
This chair kept popping up under suggested for me, and after some research, I decided this was the chair for me. I didn't want to spend $500+ on a chair, but also didn't want some cheapo one either. This splits the price difference between the cheapo ones, and the high end chairs. Assembly was easy, and everything fit together as needed. As for the build quality, everything feels solid. I've had it a few weeks, and there are no noises or squeaks, everything still fits together and feels solid. The fabric is nice and soft, kind of leather-ish almost. The stitching is cool, looks high end without feeling too flashy. The darker grey color of my chair works as a "gaming" chair, but also isn't so flashy that it would look tacky on a zoom call with your board of directors. As for comfort, I took away the lumber pillow immediately. It was way too pronounced and arched my back in a bad way. I can see using it if you're leaning forward typing, but if you're reclined just a bit, in a relaxed gaming position I greatly prefer it without it. Luckily it's easily removed. The neck pillow is squishy enough and comfortable too. As for everything else, ergonomically at first I didn't love it.. I had been sued to slouching in a bad chair, so this at first felt too restrictive. I let myself sit INTO the chair though, and let the chair position me, and I fell in love with it. This is not a chair you have to shift around in to find the right spot. Put yourself in the chair, and let it position you. It supports you well and keeps you aligned. I look forward to sitting in it now. I'm 6'1" and 235 lbs. I fit just fine. I will say the foot rest seems like it was made for smaller people. It doesn't extend that far and with all the weight of your legs it does dip down a little. I will sometimes slide it out though and rest 1 leg on it, and seems to work fine for that. It's not a feature I even needed though so it's a non-issue for me. The chair is slightly more on the narrow side for someone my size, but even so I don't feel restricted either. Overall, this is a great chair and I'm very happy. ... show more

  • Mostly good. Comfortable, some caveats to consider before buying.
Color: Brown
One screw broke when installing a tilt mechanism cover plate (as long as I will be able to get the previous broken screw out of the hole. But there was a spare screw provided. Assembly was pretty intuitive and directions were also clear. I recommend checking the reviews by others that give tips on back rest alignment and setting up the slide out leg rest. I followed their tips and had no issues with assembly besides the one broken screw. The bolts were more heavy duty and strong but the Allen wrenches were not the best quality or fit. Some don't like the neck or back rest, but for me at roughly 6ft 220# the rests are very comfortable. I could see the back rest being to prominent for some at full recline, but that is ok for my needs and back issues. The massager is noisy, and my wife sitting several feet away said it rattles the floor too much. I did not find a switch for the back massager, if it is plugged in, it is running, and would require a USB-A port near the chair to provide power. I like the positions the back rest locks in, there are several solid spots to lock in the angle for sitting, partial recline for gaming all the way to full back sleep mode. It covers a good height range for mid-taller individuals. Material is a little thin but looks like it will hold up well and clean easy. For a larger chair, my first impressions is it is well worth the money, just use care tightening the small cover plate screws so they don't snap. The comfort and cushion quality is great, and the arm rests feel like they will hold up and not bottom out like many armrest cushions do the first year. Foot rest is functional, but does hit a bit higher up the calf than I would prefer. Farther out or more adjustable would be better. The flip mechanism for the footrest does not feel like it would frequent use over time. ... show more

Had this chair for over 2 years, it’s very comfy, no complains. It has lumbar support, neck cushion, back massager (but its basically just vibration massage), foot rest stool, recline seat to bed position.

  • Fantastic Chair
Color: Red
I'm not sure what kind of person finds this chair hard to assemble. Unlike many of the chairs I've owned, the majority of the screws were already placed in position and simply had to be backed out to place the relevant hardware. Easy peasy. Solid. This chair is very solid. Impressively so. Comfort. Man oh man. When I sat in this chair, my butt cheeks thanked me. I mean literally. They made a sigh of relief and gave praise for the purchase of this chair. It's very cushioned but also very supportive. I'm not one of those people who was blessed with extra padding on my backside and the Respawn I had before this one required a cushion and extra back support. This chair has it all. I love it. It was a great compromise instead of having to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a Secret Lab chair that I originally wanted. Construction. I can't complain about the quality of the build at all. Even the stitching is very well done. The PU Leather is thick and feels like you're getting more for your money. Even the foot rest is well made and easy to assemble. I like the fact that I had to mount it rather than having it pre-mounted like the Respawn where there are flaws in the construction. This was overall a great build. Styling. I purchased the burgundy chair. It really pops on the color spectrum. All of the chairs look great, but this one stood out to me. Very impressed with how expensive it looks without sacrificing comfort or quality. I just want to end this by saying that this chair is so good looking and so comfortable that I anticipate my wife demanding one for herself after she sits in it this evening. Excellent. I can't say enough good things about it right now. ... show more

  • Good Enough
Color: Grey
I love the look of the chair but I do have some issues with it after sitting in it every day for a month now. I have an office job that I do remotely so I spend about 5-8 hours a day in this chair for that alone (save for when I'm standing at my desk). Then many nights I play games for 2-4 additional hours. So this chair has gotten a lot of use in the last 30 days. In case it helps anyone looking to buy this chair, I'm a woman who is 5'9" and weighs 170 lbs. Pros: > The look of the chair. I got it in grey and it looks really nice. > The lumbar pillow is the perfect size for me but easily comes off if you wanted it gone or wanted to replace it with something more substantial. > The chair adjusts in every way that I need it to. It's tall enough for my desk (which is an Uplift Standing Desk). > The wheels seem good and don't have any issue moving around on the floor which is a plastic mat over plush carpet. > I love the footrest but my god is it flimsy. Cons: > Squeaky AF after just 4 days. I'm going to try to lubricate some parts of the chair to see if that helps. The squeaking is horrific and when I'm on calls I have to consciously not move around much or else I get to witness my coworkers flinching as the ear-piercing screech comes through their headphones or speakers. > The seat is a little too narrow. I had some concerns about this before I bought it. I have thicker thighs so I don't really love how narrow the seat is especially since it has the bucket design where the edges slope upward. I fixed this by purchasing a memory foam seat cushion and that's fixed it completely. > On that note, the seat isn't particularly comfortable. It's fine, it's not great. It doesn't have a lot of cushion. For a chair over $200, I was expecting more. I understand it's not a $400 chair but come on. > The arms are comfy but if you like to sit really close to your desk, like with the arms underneath it, good luck. These bad boys act like bumpers and if you forget they're there and you go to scoot into your desk too quickly, you're going to end up being a battering ram for your desk. > The vibrating cushion is a joke. The cord is also way too short to be practical. > I'm pretty sure the pleather isn't going to hold up to heavy use but we'll see. Overall, is the chair worth the price tag? Eh, maybe. I wouldn't buy it again, but I also won't be returning it. It's good enough. Not the best chair I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. Do I think it will last for years to come? Absolutely not. I'm thinking I'll get a year, maybe two out of this thing before I replace it with something else. Disappointing for something I spent $200+ on but again, it's not so bad that I'll return it. I just wish it was nicer and was designed a bit more thoughtfully. The armrests should be adjustable, the seat should be a bit bigger (I read other reviews also stating it was too narrow, so not just using my experience here since I know not every body type is the same as mine), the seat should be more cushioned and comfortable, the power cord for the massager should be longer - though I think it's a gimmicky feature regardless, and the footrest bars should be sturdier. ... show more

  • Not just for gaming
Color: Grey
First of all, this chair is wonderful to look at. I have the light gray. I don't love that the company's brand/logo is on the chair, but the light gray unit hides it fairly well. There's a wonderful feel to all of the materials, including the faux leather. Only time will tell how wear-resistant this faux leather is, but it feels well made. I didn't buy this chair for gaming, although I love gaming and I imagine this would be a good fit. I sit at my office computer all day and needed a new office chair. For whatever reason, gaming chairs are cheaper. This chair has a great look and is super comfortable, I can sit in it for hours at a time. To my surprise, the lumbar support cushion comes with a little vibration module in it, so you can lean back and get a back massage. This vibration requires a USB port, and it doesn't seem to have an on/off switch, so you have to unplug it every time you want to turn it off. I wish the cable was longer, but it is easy to detach the cable and insert a longer one (that you provide). The foot rest that comes out feels a little unsure, as though you don't really want to put any weight on it. (I took one star off for this, even though I never use the foot rest. It's up to you as the buyer to think how important this is to you.) I love the recline and the rocking features, they feel very sturdy. The seat cushion is nice and thick, soft but also firm enough to support your weight. I would say that if you happen to be a very wide person, you might find the arm rests a little too narrow. I'm neither very wide nor very thin, so I find it to be just right. If I was a person with a 50+ inch waist band, I might find it a tight fit. Assembly took me about 2.5 hours, which seems a long time, but I'm the type who is always extra careful I'm doing things right. I reached a point where having a second person to hold items in place became necessary, and you probably will want a partner too. (It's not absolutely necessary, but a big help.) I referred to the written instructions which were very small to read (for my old eyes) and found myself using the YouTube video as well. Neither instructions nor the video use a lot of language, as this is obviously designed for an international market. I used the instructions and the well-produced video at the same time to be sure I was doing everything right. The video is a huge help and a nice touch I wasn't expecting. Search out the video and see if it suits your assembling style. I've been using the chair for about 2 weeks now and it feels like I need to go in with the Allen wrench (two differently sized wrenches are provided) and tighten things again. That's a little annoying, but it's not too big a deal, I guess, for the price. Perhaps I didn't tighten enough while assembling just in case I made a mistake and need to start over. If nothing else, be sure you don't throw your Allen wrenches away! In all, I have no hesitancy in recommending this chair very highly, given it's price point. If I needed a second chair, I would probably get this one again (or even consider a higher-priced model, as this company has earned my trust). My recommendation would be even stronger if you don't truly care about the foot rest. I find I can recline in this chair "just right" without needing to pull out the foot rest. But if a foot rest is absolutely essential to you, consider your options carefully. ... show more

  • This is not a $250 chair - degrading less that 4 years later - UPDATE - completely broken now This is not a $250 chair - degrading less that 4 years later - UPDATE - completely broken now
Color: Grey
Bought this chair because the one that we had had the arm break off after going on close to 20 years and finding a replacement for that would have been impossible. Decided to 'upgrade' to a better chair and the reviews showed folks happy with this one. Now, 4 years later, it's falling apart at the seams, literally. And, before someone leaps to any conclusions, I'm less than 200 lbs and the sole use of the chair, so we're well within any limits of what it should support. The chair itself was easy enough to assemble, though the quality of the metal pieces machining left a lot to be desired with several being very difficult to properly fit in the threads they were supposed to match. One was so bad and kept coming out so I eventually had to put some Loctite on the bolt to make that problem stop on the armrest coming loose constantly. Comfort wise, I'd have to say it's OK, but honestly the plain old cushion from that 20 year old office chair was probably more comfortable. This one is firm enough, and the lumbar piece helps in the lower back, but it's still just OK. The vibration mechanism worked a few times then gave up the ghost. The cords eventually ended up falling into the wheel area and then it was really dead. But the biggest issue is what is shown in the picture. The stitching design is coming apart all across the seating area, leaving holes straight into the padding. For $250, this is completely unacceptable and the company needs to address this craftsmanship and stand behind their product with a warranty to back their words. Update 5/23: Well, I made the mistake of leaning against the back of the chair. Who knew that was something the chair back was not going to be able to keep up with in this chair. One snap later and now I have no back support. Please don't buy this chair. You will be so unhappy with what you get and it's early death. Chairs half this price have a much better life and reviews. ... show more
