We've purchased this light multiple times (shame on us) and EVERY SINGLE TIME the pull-switch breaks within a few months of using it. (Breaks = No longer activates when pulled) We had one a couple of years ago, and it did the same thing. My husband "fixed" it by swapping out the switch so that it just stayed on full time, and we could "turn it on and off" by plugging it in or unplugging it when we weren't using it. After that it "worked" for quite some time, although it was a pain to not have a switch on the heater itself. When it finally gave up the ghost, we didn't replace it for quite a while. When we decided to finally replace it, we checked the reviews and decided to try it again, hoping that our experience was a fluke. NOPE! This time, the switch died within a few weeks, and we contacted them about it. They said it was on backorder, and we waited and waited and waited for the replacement to come in. They finally offered something similar, but with a slightly different shape, and ASSURED us that we would absolutely NOT have the same problem with this (slightly different) replacement light. Guess what? 5 months later (and coincidentally, just after the replacement warranty date) - the pull-switch stopped working again. It's so frustrating, because we LOVE the look and function of the lamp/heater -- right up until it turns into an expensive, non-functional piece of ceiling art.

We added this under our covered pergola. It’s super light weight, makes no sound, plugs into an extension cord from our outdoor outlet, and easily hangs by a chain that wraps over a beam. This won’t be a permanent fixture for us, but good for pulling out and putting up on a cool day. We found that hanging it lower helps. A LOT. It produces a nice amount of heat. Enough to take the chill off and make sitting outdoors on a 60 degree breezy evening feel super comfortable. At our table for 6, everyone can feel it but those sitting closer obviously feel it more. There isn’t a blower component - I was expecting one. But you really don’t need it. This is the 503 model. Not for sure what the difference between 502 and 503 are. The only downside is that the cord is quite short. I wish it were about 3-4 feet longer.

The amount of heat this put out is incredible. I hung the heater 3,2, and 1 ft in my garage ceiling and I was very happy to learn that the ceiling wasn’t getting excessively hot. I would love to pair two of this style heater with two of the size 05 wall mount style from the same manufacturer then i could move the party outside

I bought this heater for my backyard bar. The heater was damaged when I received it, one of the heating coils was damaged. The heater still worked but, not as efficient with the damaged coil. However, I’m going get this item replaced and buy 2 more. Good product, I just ended up with a damaged one.

While this gives a decent amount of heat for one person sitting under it, it's not going to heat an outdoor dinner for a group of people. Furthermore, the pull switch failed after less than 20 hours of use. I had to bypass it and now simply turn off and on by plugging/unplugging which is a bit annoying. Definitely a low quality switch component used in this product.
