Give it a couple of days-weeks depending on the severity of the irritation or injury on your pet. I bought this for my dog as she had a small injury on her tail. This not only helped it heal but immediately started healing the dry irritation on her skin as well. I’d tried so many products to get that little bald spot of skin on her tail to heal, but this product is healing it and getting the fur to grow back. It’s a small bottle but you really don’t need a lot so it will last you. 100% worth the price in my opinion for the amount you get. I did have a strong smell when I applied the ointment which it didn't know surprise me but I am glad that it is helping my dog's wound heal a lot faster than expected. This is fantastic. I think it actually feels good being applied to an open cut because our dog lets us apply it without a struggle. The scent keeps bugs from being drawn to the sore which had previous led to the dog scratching the area again. The sore is finally healing due to this ointment!

My dog had a couple of spots on his leg where I believe he'd gotten bitten while outside. He'd nibbled on them and lost fur. I started applying this and the first thing I noticed was that he didn't eat it. That's a major plus. He immediately licks the stuff we put on his paw pads after walks. I have a miniature dachshund and if you have one you know they're not very discerning when it comes to what goes into their mouths.
