  • Highly Recommend For Eye Injury/Infection
Style: Modern
I've been taking care of this sweet outdoor cat and I don't know exactly what happened to her, but one day her eye was swollen and the next it was bleeding and scratched. She may have been attacked because she's so docile, or maybe she irritated it trying to clean herself, I can't figure it out. I knew I had to take her inside and get her cleaned up, so I did and ordered this eye ointment because it's safe to be used in such a delicate area. I didn't want to use anything else in order to not damage her eye any further. This cream worked miracles. I thought for sure she was going to lose sight in her eye because she looked so horrible before I cleaned her up. Her eye was bleeding quite badly and just wasn't clotting. I'm glad this ointment had antibiotic in it because it really helped her heal. She's doing great now, and in just three days I've seen major improvement. On day one, I applied the ointment 4 times throughout the day, cleaning around the eye area each time. Day 2, I only applied 3 times because I didn't want to stress her out. We're on day three and the improvement is huge. She's already feeling much better and the cut is healing nicely; no more puss, discharge, or bleeding. If you want to save yourself a trip to the vet, I'd give this ointment a try for a few days. It's a pretty broad spectrum antibiotic so it really is worth a shot if your animal is dealing with an eye infection. (**I am not a professional or a veterinarian but I do have enough experience with my animals where I am confident in my abilities to care for them. I would urge you to do your own research and determine for yourself if you need to seek veterinary care for your animal**) Some tips I found when using this product: -It does not state how many days it should be used for but it is an antibiotic so, I would say a week should do. If you don't see improvement then you should probably take your animal to a veterinarian. -Apply with a new q-tip each time so you don't contaminate the cap or the opening of the tube. -You probably shouldn't use this on multiple animals to avoid possibly spreading infections. -Clean the eye as much as possible before applying any product. Use a q-tip, or a cotton pad soaked in water, to gently remove any discharge from the eye area. If it's not completely clean that's okay, animals can be difficult to handle but do your best. -Gently apply a layer of the product with a q-tip, being sure to not rub it in; pretend you're icing a cake. -If you need to apply IN the eye, gently apply a small amount onto the lower eye lid and gently rub your animal's eye to distribute the product. - Most importantly be patient and gentle. Sick or injured animals can be difficult to treat so take your time. ... show more

  • Miracle in a tube!
Style: Modern
If you have a dog/cat with an eye infection or wound and can't get into your vet or can't afford it ...this will literally save your dogs eye, worth every penny! I am sorry I didn't think to get any good pics but my terrier mix got his eye scratched by another dog, he had a half circle cut running all along the bottom side of his eye, could not get into the vet for a few days so I put some medicated eye drops in his eye to help with irritation and ordered this stuff just incase..... By the next morning he was shaking/whining and his third eye was completely swollen and stuck out covering most of his eye, he had swelling in his face all around his eye and green discharge leaking everywhere ....I mean I thought overnight my baby was going to lose his eye!! This stuff luckily came the same day that evening and I quickly cleaned his eye, applied the cream to his bottom eyelid (couldn't massage as product suggests as he was in too much pain but he would blink it around into his eye on his own just fine) let me tell you my shock that in TWO days he was almost completely healed and back to his self!! I applied that evening, 5x the next day and 4 times the following day. I could immediately see some relief in him, he stopped shaking/whining and it seemed the pain/swelling was the first thing to get better fir him his eye also stopped having discharge by the next morning. It took the two days for his third eye to shrink back down but wow that was an amazing turn around for him. I even canceled his appointment because the ointment healed the original scratch to his eye as well. If you look at the other pet pictures under this product his eye was even worse than the ones shown and he completely healed in less than a week, I'll say it again, it WORKS!! ... show more

  • TERRAMYCIN is THE BEST!
Style: Modern
Terramycin is amazing and typically starts working in 3 days. I've had cats for most of my life, double digits at times because I rescue them so I've seen many feline eye infections or eye infections caused by bacterial infections/upper respiratory infections. I've rescued cats who's infections were so bad their second eyelid swelled and covered their entire eyeball with pink/red fleshy infected eyelid. Putting a .5" strip of Terramycin in the eye twice per day has literally prevented kitty from losing it's eye. Anytime one of my kitties has a cold and I see their eye(s) begin to weep, I administer Terramycin and know it will take care of the problem. I use Terramycin most often in conjunction with Clavamox or Amoxycillin (for bacterial infections) and they work wonders together. I always got Terramycin via prescription so when I saw it available on Amazon without a prescription I was VERY EXCITED! I paid $28 through my vet so when I saw the price (I paid $20.41) I was even MORE EXCITED! If you have a kitty with an infected eye do not hesitate to try Terramycin! The tube is very tiny but goes a long way. Squeeze a 1/4" to 1/2" strip (depending on the size of your kitty's eye) onto your fingertip. Hold kitty's eyelids open and wipe the ointment right on the eyeball. BE SURE YOU GET IT ON THE EYEBALL and not on kitty's fur or elsewhere because it has to make it's way across the eye and into the socket in order to work. It won't do anything if it ends up on the outside of the eye! Be very gentle and try not to poke your kitty in the eye but don't be afraid to administer it. Also, watch the tube after you get the strip of ointment on your finger because it will push a little bit extra out because of the pressure still inside the tube from squeezing. Be sure to get that tiny extra bit on your finger and use it so as not to waste it. This stuff is pricey for the size so be sure to use every bit. If you leave it on your fingertip too long it will begin to "melt" into a slick "oil" thus making it almost impossible to then place on the eyeball so get it in kitty's eye right away while it's a "strip." The last time I purchased eye ointment from my vet he gave me Neomycin/Polymyxin because he was out of Terramycin and it was even more expensive at $32. Let me tell you, it was NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD as Terramycin and in fact, didn't work at all! I will never use anything but Terramycin for my cats. After 25 years of nothing but excellent, quick results, it's a winner for me and my beloved friends! If you have a kitty with an eye infection you should try this and I hope it works for your beloved pet as well :) UPDATE: There's a review here that states Terramycin may "burn." Trust me! That is a false statement and frankly I'm not sure how or why someone would make such a claim. I have used Terramycin for 20+ years and NEVER, EVER, EVER has a single cat showed even one iota of any type of discomfort after I have administered this to their eye! I know A LOT about cats having rescued/owned/cared for hundreds of them in my life and believe me when I tell you, if Terramycin ever "burned" any cat's eye(s), they would have let me know it! Cats don't put up with things like dogs do. If a cat feels discomfort or gets ticked off, you're gonna know it. The (potentially) hundreds of times I've administered this medication not a single cat ever so much as moved from the seated position he/she was in. I don't care what kind of "bachelor's degree" the reviewer in question claims to have, I have the actual hands on animal experience. Terramycin does not burn animal eyes. Period. SMH ... show more
