I bought this test to use on a dog that I recently adopted from the shelter. The shelter had him listed as a "wirehair griffon." Boy were they wrong! =0) Dutch is actually 56% various types of Bulldog, 10% poodle, 15% chihuahua and a bunch of other stuff. Never, and I mean, never did I think that would be the results we received back. but hey -- it is what it is. As for the process...it was all very simple. Once I placed the order - the test arrived within a couple of days. Collecting the sample was super easy. The test included 2 brushes, that kind of look like a bottle brush or mascara wand, that you twirl around in the dogs mouth. Since they are bristled - the sample attached to the brush easily. The main thing is to not let you buddy eat or drink for about a 1/2 hour prior to collecting the sample. once you have the sample - you simply put it back in the provided packet and drop it in the mail. Once it was picked up by USPS - I started getting updates. It took maybe 3 weeks to get the report back? The web site was simple to navigate and easy to read. Depending on how much you want to spend - the testing can provide all sorts of information. I went with the basic package ( right around 90.00, I think). This package told me Dutch's breed, some basic medical conditions he may be predisposed to have, and list some "relatives" that matched some of his dna. Bought this for our little “lab” that we found as a stray. The packaging says “3-6 weeks” but we got our results back in 2-3. So fast and very thorough. I love the features of siblings, DNA differences, and habit surveys. Def worth the try!

I dont usually write reviews but this test was SO COOL and SO FUN! We got our dog 5 years ago from the shelter and everyone always asks us what she is. Shes brindle in coloring and is pretty small, roughly 30 pounds, shes short and SO SMART! She is built like a lab but her coloring is that of a pit! Weve always been stumped as to what she is! We knew there was some pit breed in her but what else? Turns out shes pit, staffy, and 17% chihuahua ... amongst small percentages of other things including poodle, chow, cattle dog, and many more. She is a perfect mix of 15 breeds in total and 0% lab! I was shocked! I love that they email you when they receive the sample, start working on the sample, and are generating the results! The results are VERY detailed. You do have the OPTION to purchase ADDITIONAL testing of the sample you already sent in for $40ish bucks which some people threw a fit about but it literally says that in the description so maybe they cant read? Im not sure! But all in all if your on the fence JUST DO IT its seriously so fun! I purchased one for my son for his little rescue as well as my other rescue dog too! But those will have to wait until Christmas as theyre stocking stuffers! ... show more

I enjoyed doing my dogs, DNA test. Just wanted to do it for fun and see the results that came back, it was very interesting facts I learned about my French bulldog, color traits & traits. Reason why I took off a star is because they had a upgrade for premium to get more “detailed” results. Definitely not worth it. Waste of money. Other than that the process was easy and received results in a few weeks ... show more

I do not know about the accuracy but it was super easy to get a sample and send it in. When the reseuts were sent back whcih took a little over 2 weeks which is right in the window they provoded, the results were really through. Again I do not know of the accuracy because I have never tested my dog anywhere else before it said my dog is a pit, boxer mix but my dog is white and looks like a terrier. Either way it told me exactly what dog DNA was in my dog whcih came out to 14 and if there was any gentic conditions that could affect him. ... show more

Very impressed. The Wisdom Panel was accurate and gave us more information than we expected. We already knew our adopted stray dogs primary breed but it was helpful to learn about all the other breeds he came from. It was interesting how accurate the test was on a variety of traits. Just wish the test report could be printed so we could keep in his file. Couldn't find a way to print unless I just overlooked the tab. Would recommend this test anyway. ... show more
