Description

Aluminum racing radiator is designed to provide maximum cooling efficiency to prevent premature engine failure. Its light-weight, and high-heat transferring aluminum features a tube and fin design that, dramatically increases surface area that enables the heat to dissipate more efficiently. This racing radiator is at least 40% more efficient than stock ones. This does not fit my 05 silverado Z71 with electric fans. To short. Also the fittings for the automatic transmission cooler are larger then the factory ones and require to buy the correct 5/8 tread adapter which is dorman part #800-605.

Was a very easy install! I have a 2001 z71 with a clutch fan setup and it fit perfect is a bit Thicker than the stock. Has a inter graded oil and trans cooler witch my truck dose not have but cool option. My only problem was it was 34° last night and my truck wouldn’t warm up all the way on a 35 mile drive I was still only at 160° So I went from burning hot heater to not as hot so a little bummed on that that’s why I only give a 4 star note I also did new pump and t-stat a few weeks before I swapped this and it did warm up all the way before only changing the radiator ... show more

What can go wrong by switching to an aluminum radiator? The construction seems to be holding up in my rat rod. Only complaint I've had is the rad cap. I kept having overheating issues, put a new cap on and no more issues.

Only reason for 3 stars and not 2 is i was able to fix what was wrong with it. When it showed up had to fix it already. The mounting bracket was bent to heck and back. NO DAMAGE to shipping box. lucky it was fixable with some body hammers and dollies. Had to grind out the mounting holes they didn't align right and yes it was put in the right spot. the mount holes were to far apart for the mounting bolts to the radiator support. again easy fix but shouldn't had to do that. The trans cooler hook ups had to be cleaned out big time had a ton of metal shavings in it from tapping them out. After a complete cleaning and fixing everything to mount it right it had NO leaks and seems to keep everything nice and cool. Quality control really needs to be addressed on these. You can't send out a product like this. Most customers will not be checking everything inside and out like I do. If i hadn't cleaned out the metal shavings it would have gone straight into my transmission and more than likely damaged it to the point of having to replace it. Again can not stress enough about QUALITY CONTROL. ... show more

I have an 02 Sierra. For the past 5-10 years I’ve had problems with it trying to overheat on those 90°+ days while sitting at the drive through or in traffic. I tried flushing ( professionally), new water pump, heavy duty clutch fan, but nothing worked. I installed this, problem completely solved ! Keep in mind it holds more transmission fluid than standard single core radiators. They should send a warning with the radiator that says REPLACE TRANSMISSION BEFORE DRIVING. But it’s a great product and easy to install. It bolted up like an OEM one. ... show more

Arrived well-boxed but still with a bent bracket. No problem, bent it right back to square. Very pretty out of the box, but as I handled it, it became obvious that the lovely silver aluminum finish on the tanks was cheap fresh paint!! You can see the paint on my hands! I really started second guessing my purchase, then I finally discovered this radiator would NOT fit my 06 z-71 silverado. Z-71 uses a larger 31" core.
