I chose potassium over salt for my water softener additive because I also use the water for plants, indoor and outdoor and salt is very bad for plants...also for animals. When I did my research I learned that a lot of potassium products do still contain a high degree of salt. This product had the least amount. My water softener system is relatively new and I have only added this product one time so far but it seems to work perfectly. Plus I get this delivered to my home which means no "lugging" these bags from the store to your car and into your garage. Plus the bags are very easy to open. I like the way the water feels and it doesn't taste salty. My big box local store did not have any of this type of product available at the time I needed it so I ordered from Amazon. Boxes came a little banged up but, it is heavy and it did not affect the softner bags at all. Great product. I will be ordering these again. ... show more
