  • small but mighty and mighty good
Color: Multi
We've had ours now for 4 years. We have a small forest and many trees previously planted in the wrong place we've had to cut down. MY husband, who spent his life with gas powered chainsaws is now a happy, tree-cutting maniac and I have to stop him from cutting down everything. It's so much lighter, easier to start and pleasant to use that in 4 years, aside from putting in the oil and making sure the batteries are charged, he hasn't had to do a thing. It still leaks a bit so we have it on a piece of cardboard, but the leaking is very minimal. Like all DeWalts this is super well made, sturdy, and it appears, will last a long time without issues. He actually enjoys it now when I say there's a tree that needs to be cut. It's fun. ... show more

  • This electric chainsaw keeps overcoming the harder cutting jobs
Color: Yellow/Black
I like the very easy method of adjusting chain tension. Also, like the sightglass for observing bar/chain oil level....will need to reference frequently as this saw goes through the bar/chain lube like none of my Stihl saws ever have (uses a lot). Oh well. Not that difficult to keep sufficient level of bar/chain oil. Fantastic motor paired with the 20v batteries. I actually went with a Waitley 20v set of batteries that have worked very well (Dewalt batteries so expensive). I have "pushed the saw" to just keep cutting and cutting on some harder cuts that I have have it made and the motor performed flawlessly. I have used this saw A LOT for cutting trees down, clearing brush and processing felled trees and "no" , I'm not a city boy who this is their first chainsaw. This comes with a 12" bar guide so plan your cuts accordingly. While I bought a 2nd battery that I always bring with me, thus far, I haven't had to swap out batteries on the fly as "Battery #1" just keeps going and going until I am done for the day. Sharp chain but we all know they get dull when you use them so one needs to locate good quality replacement chains. Note, I'm a landowner maintaining 20+ acres. I still use my Stihl chainsaws for bigger cuts but I've been surprised at how many cuts the Dewalt is capable of making. So handy for processing felled trees, no need to keep shutting the gas chain off/on while cutting branches and such from the tree. ... show more

  • Wood Chewing Little Badger
Color: Multi
First, let me say, no, this will never replace my gas powered Stihl. But. Sometimes for what I need to do, it’s overkill to drag that behemoth out. Aaaaaaand sometimes I do stupid things like break the bar and chain oil reservoir cap as I’m getting ready to cut right before a storm rolls in. 🙄 When I first learned there were electric chainsaws out there, I scoffed. I rolled my eyes. I threw all the you’ve got to be kidding me what could that possibly do shade. I can’t remember what made me actually start searching them up on Amazon, but one day I did, and this is the one I settled on trying. Boy have I ate crow ever since. This little bad boy is USEFUL. I will NEVER give it up. I continue to be amazed by it, even after having it for a couple years. I have used it to cut small firewood, demo old corrals, and storm clean up. Today, I got the Stihl out to cut a quick load before a storm and broke the oil reservoir cap. 🤬 Nobody in town had a replacement. So, in order to at least be able to have something, I grabbed my DeWalt electric chainsaw and popped a battery in. I was once again shocked at the quick little load of firewood I cut, and on one battery to boot. No, of course none of it was the size of a tree trunk, but it wasn’t all really tiny, either. I decided it was past time to write a review for this piece of awesomeness. DeWalt knocked it out of the park with this one. Order it, you won’t regret it. So many uses. Ladies, if a gas powered full size chainsaw intimidates you but you need something, you’ll LOVE this. My ONLY annoyance is that it seems to go through a decent jag of bar and chain oil, but that’s small peanuts compared to what it does do and not even worth deducting a star. And yes, I did load my jeep this morning because I’m not going to drag the diesel pickup out for a quickie cutting session. 😆🤷🏻♀️ ... show more

  • Good product, but leaks oil which can be fixed with O ring
Color: Yellow/Black
Good item, cuts branches and trees of about 5 inch diameter well. Need bigger chainsaw for bigger trees. Biggest issue I had was oil leak. Not sure why the company does not include an O ring on oil cap for tight seal. I had to buy the O ring separately to stop oil leak. Other than that, no issues and good product. If anyone needs to buy O ring, its O ring 35727 with OD 11/16, ID 1/2, wall 3/32. ... show more

its everything its supposed to be, have used this for about two months without any problems. Cuts through limbs and small trees better than I imagined it would. Like many other reviews, it does leak oil, so either hang it up or store it standing up somehow, it makes no sense to drain oil after every use ... show more
