Woof does seem to split pretty easily when drilled into so just be careful. Our chinchilla really likes all the room but beware since this is made of wood to make sure he isn’t ingesting any! I love this cage. It is a great height, and with the board that is supposed to slide under the tray on top, it makes a great shelf to place food and treats on. HOWEVER- I DO NOT recommend this if you have a pet that is a chewer. We have a squirrel and it has taken months, but we are going to have to replace this soon. It wasn't too difficult to put together, and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the board that is supposed to slide under the pan in the bottom didn't fit well, hence putting it on top. But that ended up being a bonus because now we have a place to stack food and treat boxes. The ramps inside are pretty steep, so I don't know if it would be great for rabbits (it's been over 20 years since I've had rabbits, so I don't remember how well they can climb) but I think for ferrets other climbing rodents it's amazing. Oh, and the wire is small squares, not large openings at all so it's good for small animals. It has 4 different access openings- The top fully opens, the top and second level have doors, and the bottom level has a door on the side so plenty of access to clean. It can be hard to reach under the ramps though. Overall I would recommend and would purchase for a different pet again. ... show more

I bought this cage for my ferrets after using a metal petsmart version for 2 years. It wasn’t too difficult to assemble and looked nice so I had high hopes, until yesterday. The product is very cheaply made. It was a tragic moment when I discovered my small 20lb dog had broken through the chicken wire type material of this cage and killed one of my 2 babies. I am heartbroken and terribly disappointed in my experience with this cage. It is a very sad life lesson to have to go through to learn the quality of your product. I will be purchasing an all metal cage again for my remaining ferret, and this will be an expensive waste. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My chinchilla loves it, it’s very easy to clean. However not as sturdy as I hoped. If you get this cage for a chinchilla make sure to get them lots of chew toys so they don’t chew on the wood part of the cage.

I ordered the 63' x32' critter cage. It is surprisingly sturdy. It went together some what easy. Some of the pieces didn't have identifying markings on them which is no biggy. It was only 2 pieces. Which made it easy to figure out where they go. The directions are somewhat easy to understand. If you're not looking at them carefully you might miss where a couple of screws go. Other than that it took me about 35 min to assemble. My two chinchillas love their new home. After a couple of hours being in it they warmed up quickly and are popcorning and had a serious case of the zoomies for a while..... now the framing is made of soft wood so when assembling with power tools you will have to be careful and go slow or you will pull a screw through the wood or you could possibly split the wood. Slow and easy wins the race.... I definitely would 100% recommend this cage ... show more

Got this cage for our ferrets and it gave them both a good amount of room. The construction was a bit tedious. I replaced latches for the roof and lower section to make them stronger. I added steps on the ramps to help both of them manage going up and down. Overall, nice cage and worked for the needs of the ferrets. ... show more
