  • Amazing quality for the price
Style: Bike Fork Mount
Given I could get 2 of these for <$30 shipped these are much better than I expected. The metal they are made of is very strong and rigid. The fork clamp feels high quality and despite others qualms about getting it back open after closing, I have not had an issue with this. I found it very easy to operate even without something to pry it open. I bolted these into the bed of my truck and they look like they belong. I took the bikes on a drive to a local path and it works just like you would expect a fork mount to work. I am very happy with the product overall and would definitely buy it again. The only thing I don't like (but has a simple fix) is that you can access the screw holes even when the bike is mounted. This would make it possible to take the entire mount off and the bike at the same time. I used security screws, loctite and lock nuts in mounting to combat this downfall and would be surprised if I could even get them back off the truck. ... show more

  • Pretty heafty! We will see how it goes...
Style: Bike Fork Mount
I have a 29" XC bike that will not fit in the back on a tacoma with both wheels on so I bought this to attach to a custom rail system I built for my 2022 Toyota Tacoma. It feels well built, thick, and sturdy... just like the captain of the softball team. If you raise the front fork roughly 18.5 inches, you can close the tailgate. Barely. The snug fit hold the bike in place with the front fork locked into the mount. I'm driving from NC to upstate NY to bike in the Adirondacks. I'll drive back in a week. It'll be 1800 miles round trip. I'll update this when I return with (or without) the bike in the back of the truck. Wish me luck. UPDATE: Made it there and back safely. Mount is awesome. It worked well for what I needed. ... show more

  • Does the Job
Style: Bike Fork Mount
The hitch does what it is suppose to. At first it looked kind of flimsy and I thought that my fork will slip out but the fork is locked in pretty tight. In my set up, I mounted the hitch to a 2x6 board which I lay in the truck bed. That way, I can remove the 2x6 and have use of the full bed without somthing sticking out. You will also need some way to secure the back wheel or it will swing around when you take sharp corners in your truck. I got a ratcheting cargo bar which I layed across the top of my back wheel to keep it in place and secured it with a velcro tye. Only complaint I have is that the spacer tab (the tab next to the quick release) sticks and hard to move back and forth. I tried greasing that part and it helped some. I recently looked at the Delta bike hitch pro2 at a bike shop, it costs $10 more but seems lot more sturdy and the mechanism seems to be lot smoother. ... show more

  • Works great on our Trek mountain bikes and hybrid bikes
Style: Bike Fork Mount
Works great on our Trek mountain bikes and hybrid bikes. Mounted them on a 2x8 in the bed of my F-150. I fit 4 of mounts in the truck bed, 2 on the front of the bed and 2 in the back. The 2 screw holes i think are not enough to hold them securely so i added a couple additional screws with washers around the edge of the mount. They hold bikes very securely. Worked great for multiple long-distance road trip vacations, but also easy enough to use for quick day trips nearby. Have not tried the lock feature, I just lock the bikes using a regular bike lock, but i'm not in a high theft area so not too worried about it. ... show more

  • Versatile, great product for creating your own bike mount
Style: Bike Fork Mount
I just recently bought my wife and I new bikes for casual, weekend use. As I had just dropped a fair amount of money on the bikes, I was looking for a cheap mounting option. I have a pickup truck and saw these and figured I could rig something up relatively inexpensively. I was correct. The price was right with this particular product. You will see when looking at other items that there are more expensive versions available. I can't imaging what they would offer over these to justify the price. They are easy to use, have numerous mounting options (use your imagination), and are lockable if you need a little added security. I see no reason to pay more, unless you just like having the Thule or Yakima logos to look cool. As far as I can tell you could mount these just about however you like, including directly to your bed. I didn't want to do that, so I looked around on Google and saw what some other folks did for a removable solution. I blended a few ideas together and used some 2x6's to create a simple, cheap, and removable option. I was very surprised and pleased to see how solid the bikes rode when clamped in. They didn't seem to move an inch. I have no negatives to list for this product. I haven't had them long, so they only thing I can't attest to is durability in weather. I do not plan to leave mine out when not in use, so that shouldn't be a factor for me. So, in summary, if you are looking for a cheap, sturdy, versatile mounting option for a truck, just buy these and save yourself some money. ... show more

  • Excellent product at a great price, recommended.
Style: Bike Fork Mount
I call all the local shops, and for the most basic models they all wanted $30. I was able to buy a pair of these mounts for less then $30 total, free shipping, got it in 3 days, no complaints. The product is well built, solid, elegant, doesn't look like made in china quality, it works, it does what it is meant to do. No complaints, recommended. After mounting the bikes a couple of times for a short run to the local bike trail, I stop using this device, too much hassle, I just trow the bike on the back of the truck and go... ... show more

  • Solid and functional.
Style: Bike Fork Mount
I like it for longer trips. Had to make a back plate to fit this in my truck rail. It holds well, tight as a vise. Have to be careful not to over tighten. It's helpful to stabilize your rear wheel with a strap or by other means, because it will laterally torque your fork pretty good while you're cornering or over rough terrain. I run a cable around my rear wheel and lock the end of the cable to the mount. I feel comfortable running into gas stations with this setup, but just know bike thrives are quick and clever. Nothing is foolproof. ... show more
