I bought this one for my Ubuntu 22.04 desktop/server. It arrived barely used (less than 30 hours according to the diagnostics), is fairly quiet (only audible when there are lots of drive activities) and doesn't seem to run hot (so far). It isn't as fast as the (much smaller) drive I have on that system: when I ran a test with a lot of writing and reading, there were noticeable lags in streaming. But because it works fine as media server drive when only data reads are needed, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

What’s not to like! This was a screaming good deal. Look brand new. Had only 2-hours use as can be seen on the drive statistics. Works like a charm, and runs so quietly when compared to the 6TB drive I replaced. I like Dell products, too, my experience shows great reliability over time.

I got 2 drives and one of the drives was DOA, it would not initialize no matter what I tried and I tried on multiple computers. So I got an exchange. That was very quick and that drive worked. So I thought all was well. Well I was wrong. Within a few weeks both drives started to act up, they would just disappear and then computer would take much longer to reboot. Both drives started to make clicking sounds. When I removed them from my computer all was fine, so I am returning both drives and in the process of getting my data off the drives. Would not recommend!!

I have now purchased 4 of these drives and the drive that had the most total hours of use when i installed it was a total of 35 hours. These drives are brand new and an insanely good value.
