Easy installation. Unscrew the old pipe and screw in the new.

The pipe is a great item. Although it's sold as 1/2" the size is really 3/8". Easy fix. Go to hardware store and buy a 1/2" to 3/8" pipe reducer and screw them together. Works great no bend with the heat as of yet.

It works just fine and I'm pleased with it. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is that it is already showing signs of wearing out (flaking off around flame holes). I have been using it almost every night for a couple of months so maybe that it just normal/expected wear.

    • Piece of junk which melts in just a few weeks
I burn a lot of hardwood, this pipe is NOT up to the task. Spend the money and get something twice as expensive that lasts five times longer. Good for a real estate agent staging a fireplace shot, nothing more.

I purchased this pipe in March 2022. In just under two years of moderate (10-12 uses each winter) usage, the pipe has deteriorated to the point that it's ready to break in two. The homemade gas starter pipe I had crafted from 1/2" black pipe lasted over ten years in the same moderate usage. This pipe is obviously made from thinner wall material than standard gas pipe.
