I purchased this kit because it measures the entire Lipid Panel reliably. If you read and follow the instructions you will get accurate and repeatable results. The directions are easy, but you may need the get longer lancelets if you have thick skin. This device is a complete waste of money. As a healthcare provider experienced in phlebotomy, I found the blood collection process nearly impossible. The provided pipettes do not draw blood effectively. Despite multiple lancet pricks, the device timed out before I could successfully transfer the sample to the test strip. The instructions are unnecessarily complicated and unclear; I suspect the average layperson would find them very difficult to follow. Furthermore, I performed a correlation test with professional laboratory results. I used this device for a fasting cholesterol check and then had my blood drawn at a lab one hour later. This machine measured my LDL at 80 mg/dL, whereas the clinical lab measured it at 68 mg/dL. This is a significant discrepancy in results. Conclusion: Do not waste your money. It is far more cost-effective and accurate to have your blood drawn a few times a year at a professional lab, many of which offer inexpensive services for a flat fee. This is an update: The last two test strips that came with the original testing kit gave me an error message stating that they were expired, even though they were not. I contacted customer support and was told to purchase a new box of test strips for $100. Keep in mind that this works out to about $10 per strip. I was then told to record a video and send it to them if I received another “expired test strip” message. I reported the issue to the Better Business Bureau. Over the years, whenever I have had to seek help from the BBB to resolve problems that could not be settled directly with customer support, companies have at least responded. This company has not even acknowledged the complaint. I did not want to post this update until I had given them enough time to respond, but two weeks have now passed.     • Good tool to use for self monitoring
I plan on using it to monitor my cholesterol monthly until dr visit. Easy to use. While I'm not sure off its 100% accurate, I feel like its a good tool to monitor the direction my numbers.

Trash. Test strips gave e-1 error out of the box, doesn’t give all your readings and is extremely off for the ones it does, when it functions 25 percent

Only wanted for cholesterol, all is good except the functionality of the lancets does adjust as stated. Went through 3 before 1 finally working. Will but buy different lancets but overall results are spot on and reliable.

Update: Don’t waste your money. After a couple months and another lab test to compare, the error on glucose reading is over 50%. Cholesterol readings are also completely wrong. Very difficult to use product. The lipid profile strips require much more blood than a regular glucose strip. Besides, I got results not consistent with the lab tests. The total cholesterol reading was fine, but both HDL and LDL are consistently off by a big number. I observed the same with glucose strips, with measures about 20% off the lab results. Last but not least, it does not work on temperatures below 65F ... show more
