I got these so I didn’t have to pay to figure out if I was actually suffering from a UTI. I took one and it was positive so I ended up going to the doctor. I actually got 2 urine tests and they came back negative turns out I had kidney stones. So, did I have a UtI? No, but it did still let me know something is wrong and I wouldn’t have figured out I had kidney stones as the doctor kept telling me I was “fine”. ... show more

You can only take the manufacturer’s word for accuracy, as there is no way to check yourself. So, this product tests for nitrites and leukocytes. Nitrites indicate presence of bacteria, while leukocytes indicate either an inflammatory process or an infective process. Many test strips also test for blood as an indicator of severity, this test strip does not. Any test like this must take your history and symptoms into account, as not all infections cause symptoms and not all symptoms indicate infections. Discuss with your physician the use of these tests to see what results indicate a trip to the doctor. Early infections can be difficult to read on these strips based on your ability to discern color changes. ... show more

If you have frequent infections or elderly this is a must have at home. So much cheaper then running to the doctor all the time, for those costly checks.
