This is an excellent lens and fairly light weight for the zoom range it provides. Optics are excellent as are most of the canon lenses I have purchased. Make sure you read reviews of the lenses you want to purchase before you buy them

    • Lens works well but don't like the extension for long telephoto shots.
Quality is fine. Just don't like the design all that much since the lens gets a LOT longer at longer focal lengths. Used to the older Canon lenses that were bigger, heavier but did not extend for longer focal lengths.
