Reduces Chlorine, Sulfur Odor, Scale, and is Bacteriostatic The term 'bacteriostatic' indicates that the system limits the passage or growth of bacteria that may already exist in the incoming water. It does not mean that the water leaving the system is safer than the water entering the system. A refreshing shower is something we all look forward to every day and sometimes more than once a day. Now that you'll be showering in filtered water, your shower experience will be even more enjoyable! Here's why: Chlorine is an irritant. Your Culligan In-Line Shower Filter reduces the Chlorine that may be present in your water. Depending on your water source, you may notice the odor of sulfur in your shower water. • Nice and Clean
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
Easily to install and seems to be working great from the start. No smell of chlorine or other odors from the treated water in our shower. I notice a difference that my skin does not feel dry or smell like chlorine from showering. This looks better than those giant silver barrels.

  • WOW! THIS WORKS GREAT!!
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
Let me start by saying I am a walking Wikipedia when it comes to water and water filtration. I know way more than most plumbers. I have owned Berkey, Doulton,Aquasanas and several other brands of filters. I have made my own filters as well. I grew with a salt type water softener too Where we live now we rent and I am not putting in a whole house filter. This filter does every bit as good as an average 3 stage whole house filter! We have super hard water and it takes all the rust and sediment right out! It works GREAT with a hand held 1.5 GPM shower head too. Our skin and hair is softer and cleaner. Our tub finally STAYS clean with no hard water spots. I am very very impressed with the quality and price. I know some reviewers whine about installation. Do NOT listen to them. I had ZERO issues installing it. I used a pair of pliers and some white plumber's tape. NO leaks or drips. You do have to adjust it a lil to get just where you want it but that's ok. It does work very well with a hand held shower too. ... show more

  • Affordable Replacement Filters, Really Works Well.
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
There are so many shower filters to choose from. I have tried a few over the years. The last filter I had was a Vitamin C filter that attached to the shower arm a bit like this one does. It was just that it ran out of Vit C rather quickly and was expensive to refill. This one has been going strong for over a month now and it still going strong. The instruction sheet says to remove the cartridge and flip it over if the flow of water begins to lessen. You will also get some more life out of the filter medium. I can definitely tell that it is reducing the chlorine. My hair and skin feel softer. We have really hard water where I live and this seems to help a little with that too. (if you really need to reduce your hard water you may want to check into an electronic water softener, I have had a clear wave brand one now going strong for 8 years, there is also an Eddy brand here on Amazon that looks good too. I haven't had any scale or lime deposits on the fixtures and tiles since) This in-line shower filter seems to make it even softer feeling. I chose this filter because the replacement filters are available in the Amazon Subscribe and Save store and that gets you anywhere from 5%-15% off your filter when you have it auto shipped. That really makes them much more affordable! ... show more

  • Works very well, especially for the price
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
UPDATED BELOW: I was annoyed at the chlorine smell my wife and I were getting in the shower, knowing that breathing such fumes is not healthy. After examining options, I figured I'd give this inexpensive option a try. Wow, the shower immediately stopped having its chlorine smell! Strangely, our shower's water throughput with our 2.5 GPS showerhead was only slightly affected, which was another plus. The device does take up additional shower space, but is generally solid and when properly tightened down with a wrench, solidly in place with no leaks (using teflon tape on the threads, as well). The filter seems to last long enough that I'm not worried about replacement costs. Definitely, you will need to get replacement filters, but they are a reasonable price for the utility versus other options. This filter is worth a try. Update 08/01/2012 - Our unit worked great for almost a year, after which the location below where the filter housing attaches to the water pipe (where it can swivel if not tight enough) weakened and effectively were stripped. The unit is made entirely of plastic. This plastic still seems too strong to have had such a problem, but there was no way to fix it, and water kept spraying out toward the ceiling. I think our shower head's weight and the heat degraded its strength over time. We threw this away, but the unit was quite inexpensive to start with, so we are happy. It did a good job while it lasted, and if you have a light shower head, you may not experience any problems. ... show more

  • Easy to install, good item to try if you ate unsure.
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
As an add on to the shower neck, it installed easily and doesnt leak (at least not yet). It is all plastic so I wouldn't over tighten any of the moving parts. It's only been a week or so and I can't really tell much about the quality of the shower water or it's affect on my skin but the removal of any chemicals from the water supply (upon reaching your house) is a good thing. Only time will tell. ... show more

  • Works for well water
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
This filter was easy enough to put on, although it does fit a little loose, but we fixed that with some plumbers tape. We have well water which contains quite a bit of rust and our showers always felt "dirty"- kind of like you could feel the rust particles even if you couldn't see them and our hair and skin felt awful even after scrubbing with loofahs and what not. We put this filter on the shower head and our hair and skin feel clean again. We do have to change this filter every month, but until we get a whole house system, this seems to be doing the trick for keeping the rusty feeling out of our hair and skin. **Update: It's been almost a full year with this filter and the part where it attaches to the shower arm out of the wall has come loose- like it's stripped out or bent in the washer/nut area, so it has started to leak at that joint. After examining it, it appears it cannot be fixed or maybe I'm just not handy enough to do it. For the year of heavy showering we got out of it, it was great, but I think we'll be trying out a more direct in-line system or just buy the filtered showerhead itself. Part of the problem is that we have a pretty heavy showerhead which I think caused this joint area to weaken. I think with a smaller and lighter showerhead this would still be working great, but one of us is over 6 foot tall, and the other a bit over 5, so our big showerhead gets moved up and down a lot, and this design isn't good for constant adjustment. Otherwise, the filtering of the water is good. ... show more
