Mighty Little Smoker with a Small Temperature Problem

This thing is an awesome portable smoker that produces really good smoked meats, however it has some minor quirks to get used to. Day or night, ambient temp hot or cold the programming is not quite right so the temperature dial and the actual smoker temperature do not match specifically on the lower
range (i.e. set to 225F and smoker temp is 290-300F). This seems to match other reviews as well. On the higher range it seems to match much closer to the set temp as a set temp of 500F produces temps around 510-520F. The sear grate is insanely effective and will give a steak a nice crusty sear within 30 seconds. Overall, an amazing smoker packed into a small unit, but it has some minor limitations related to temperature regulation. Product is closer to 4.5 star.

Have used 3 times so far and results great! Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, baked / smoked chicken, and today smoked ribs. The other reviews stated it runs hot which it doesn't hold a steady heat but it ebbs and flows, it gets a little hotter than temp then goes back down. The food is great and done
perfectly. Easy to clean and use. Just love it.

It's a pretty great little smoker

So, when my first one arrived, we thought we were doing something wrong. No matter what temperature we set it to, it cooked to 400+ degrees. I called cuisinart, got a rep who said "oh, it's a smoke? Wrong department" and then transferred me out of the country. It was during the regular business hours
they provided on the answering machine, and yet, they were closed. So I left a salty, salty message and called Amazon tech support. They tried trouble shooting, but we'd done all the things already, so they shipped us a new one and told us to just box up the old one on the new one's packaging and they'd arrange to have it picked up. So, the new one arrived and lo and behold, it works as advertised. Temperature on the display ranged +- 20 degrees from the set point, but I think the integral temp probe is below the heat shield with the flame, because the oven thermometer that I placed on the grilling grate stayed steady right on the set point every time I lifted the lid to cross-check. So new out of the box, I'm impressed. Now we'll see how it stands the test of time 😁 kudos to the Amazon product support team, well done!

It’s perfect for my husband and I. He said “I really like it”! Perfect steaks now! Ours heats as it’s supposed too. Some people have said that theirs gets to hot. Our heats exactly the temperature we set it at. I really like that it comes with a meat thermometer.

I want to say that I am disappointed but the smoker itself works great. My disappointment is the paint/coating on the lids. Second use and started to "bubble".

Perfect smoker for camping

This maybe the BEST smoker grill I have ever used. I was not wanting a pellet smoker by any means but this came along and we camp a lot and didn't want to carry full size smoker with us anymore. Well what can I say Cuisinart CPG-256 Portable Wood Pellet Grill and Smoker has done me well. Food Taste a
s good as any of my other stick smokers and easy to use. In fact I would go further to say in all of my competitions I have entered this thing takes a lot of the guess work out of getting great results. I would recommend this to everyone! My first one I received was broken and in 2 days I had another one sent to me.

Very pleased so far. Only wish it was designed to control the temperature range tighter. In windy conditions must place pieces of aluminum foil over.the vent.

The inside of this girl is exactly like my pit boss! This is a mini version of my giant pit boss smoker grill. It’s a Cuisinart and a lot less expensive than the others out there. I love the way it works. I do get that smoky flavor this one’s a keeper.

I have been a pellet grill user for the last 3 years and wanted one for on the go. This small but mighty smoker has fit the need. I am able to smoke my meats for hours and then use it for a quick hamburger meal. Love the versatility and portability, easy to carry and fits in my SUV as well as my wife
's car. Definite must have as an extra grill
