  • Safe and easy to use
Size: 8-Quart Style: Stainless Pressure Cooker
This is my very first pressure cooker and I like that this can be used on both conduction and induction cook tops - though I am using it on conduction stove. I like the lock feature so i know the lid is properly and that there is a steam vent (not sure if that's the name) that pops up when the pressure has properly built up and I watch this same little indicator to determine when to open the pot (it should go back down). The lid is heavy and feels quite durable, the handles are sturdy as well. It cooks my soups so much faster and have begun using it to prepare some meats as well. I holds a good amount, which is why I purchased the 8qt. I'd buy another one, but do not need two. ... show more

  • Two pressure settings and simple to use.
Size: Medium Style: Stainless Pressure Cooker
I liked the fact that it had two pressure settings which is a must for me. I have been using a 40 years old Presto cooker for years and kept it for larger meals, such as my annual corned beef and cabbage recipes, but this is so great for smaller and more frequent use. I use it consistently for beans, and more rarely, for meat. So very simple to use and great for those not used to pressure cooking. ... show more

  • Takes getting used to....
Size: Medium Style: Stainless Pressure Cooker
First of all, very difficult to assess when the right level of pressure has been achieved. Manual says something like "maintain a slow steady steady stream of steam." I'm sorry, but that's a judgment call. "Slow" compared to what? The manual also describes "two pressure release methods" but then in the recipe booklet (for legumes), describes a third method involving putting the cooker under cold water in the sink to hasten the process. Two questions here: Why not provide legume recipes that do not involve the sink method? Why is this technique not described in the main instruction booklet? Also, one of the black handles on mine apparently chipped on the first usage. I don't even know how it happened, if it even occurred after I received it. Overall, I find the unit heavy and difficult to use, and good luck finding recipes online. 90% are for "instant pots"; Indian recipes calibrate pressure cooking by the number of whistles. Too much trial and error involved with the scant Cuisinart instructions. Frankly, I remain scared of this thing. ... show more

  • tough, durable with good design
Size: 8-Quart Style: Stainless Pressure Cooker
I was afraid to get one of the pressure cookers that had the top combined with the handle; it just seemed like it was too vulnerable to break the handle, since these things can get weighty filled with food, liquid, etc, and then you'd lose not only the handle but the top as well. The handles on these are strong, tough, and big enough to easily grab without having to get too close to the pot. I love how heavy the pot is; I use it for other cooking besides pressure-cooking; I think it will last a long time. I like how easy it is to install the lid; no trying to find "just the right spot" such that it can be sealed, etc; you just place the top on the rim, then twist the handle on the lid to lock it. the gasket inside the lid seems heavy and durable, and not prone to getting dry and cracked. I like the pressure spigot; you just put it on all the way on the first use, and it just stays on; thus it doesn't get lost. I must admit, though, that nothing in the instructions tells you that you must firmly press down to get it all the way down; I didn't do that at first, and found it didn't work, until I figured it out. I find most user manuals these days don't give adequate directions for use of the product. so, just remember to push the pressure release valve all the way down on its housing, until it's firmly on. also, don't forget to twist the handle until it's sealed; I forgot one time and steam was coming out from the lid. I had to turn it off, cool it down, then take the handle off and put it on properly, seal it, then start again. It's done a fine job with tough cuts of meat such as shanks and bear meat, which I usually have to bake for six hours to get it as tender! ... show more

  • High quality!
Size: 2-Pack Style: Silicone Gasket Replacement Set
I needed a new pressure cooker and love Cuisinart. It did not disappoint! Nice heavy base, great seal. I did purchase more silicone seals for the future. I do a lot of pressure cooking and appreciate quality cookware!
