Oh I love this thing! I have a covered screened back porch, and I love the view from the porch, but I needed something to provide enough heat to help at the beginning and end of winter. This unit was short enough that I felt comfortable having it under a vinyl top, and the heat shield seems to do a good job of pushing the heat down without radiating too much up into the ceiling. I had three assembly issues: one missing screw (1 dollar at the orange box store fixed that!), a small dent on the top (not worth sending it back for) and the blue plastic stuff on the stainless steel doesn't come off easily around the rivets. But the build quality is solid, its easy to light, and the heat shield and heat output more than make up for it. ... show more

I purchased two of these for a party I was planning. I didn't unbox them immediately because I had to work. Approximately 10 days later I opened them to find that one was damaged. The base had a dent in it and the top cover was bent. It was packaged as if someone had returned it. Open Immediately so this doesn't happen to you. Puts out good heat but is very flimsy. Sheet metal is very thin so not sure how well it will hold up. Not sure if I would purchase again for this price point. Time will tell.

    • Love this heater, just wish they'd find an alternative to the blue wrapping
The heater generates a good amount of heat and broadcasts the heat well. After a few uses over the first few weeks we like it a lot and I would order it again. My only frustration is the blue wrapping on the pieces, which was applied before the rivets, which means it's impossible to remove all of it - fragments of blue remain frustratingly present around many edges. This works very well. The heat output is excellent. It seems to produce more heat than any other units we have sat next to in restaurants. It was easy to set up and run. We love it!

    • Not very sturdy
These fall over very easily in any type of wind. We have only had them for a month and they are destroyed. If you are using for a specific event they will be fine but we wanted them to live in our backyard for colder nights and I would not recommend for that purpose.

I never would have bought this hd I known that every bit of flat metal is covered with a blue plastic film that is extremely sticky and difficult to remove even on the easy parts. But the real nightmare is that they installed the plastic UNDERNEATH all of the rivets and other fittings so you will NEVER get the bits of plastic off the edges of all the fittings. That’s not a great look. Allow at least an hour or two just for the plastic removal part of installation. 😡 ... show more
