After so many years of getting cheap can openers for the store it's nice to have this one that does most of the work for me, rather than me opening the can by hand. However, I have two issues about this item. First is the magnet, it's ok, it is not very strong, so I have my hand at the bottom of the can just in case it falls off the magnet. I open small tuna cans, and I can feel how weak the magnet is, so imagine if I was to open tomatoes sauce can, or some collard greens. The second but most important is the plugin cord, it's very very short. It is a real inconvenience; it barely reaches away from the wall once I plug it in. Other than that it is very simple to use, ease to remove the blade to clean, the blade is sharp. i would recommend this for people who only eat can food rarely, not to a person who eat and cooks with can food all the time. the cord should be made longer for safety reasons. ... show more

This is by far the MOST AMAZING Electric Can Opener on this PLANET!!!!! I recently purchased a Hamilton Beach one, but it was incredibly difficult to use. I tried to use it gently, but to no avail. I tried pushing the cans in different angles, tried using different size cans ect...but to no avail. It only opened ONE can of all that I tried and It eventually made my right hand black and blue. I tried to email the company, no response; gave a review on Amazon now I am out ?$ 35.00? What is Worse, is So is my Neighbor!, because I talked her into buying one! I chose Hamilton Beach because their Products are normally Wonderful! I have use their different products for decades. THANK GOD for CUISINART ELECTRIC CAN OPENERS!!!!! I am 70 years old and this is Buy Far the MOST AMAZING ELECTRIC CAN OPENER that you will EVER Buy!!!! I just received it today, and because of my Hamilton experience, I opened the Cuisinart Right Away and used opened the FIRST CAN with my LITTLE FINGER with EASE!!! No joke! I am VERY IMPRESSED! Works wonderfully right out of the box. My only concern will be the longevity, as the activation lever is made of a very light plastic that I don't think will last more than a couple of years, (if that), before it brittles and breaks. Using a heavier gauge plastic would have solved that concern, but I guess the extra few cents they saved with the lighter plastic matters more than consumer satisfaction these days. ... show more
