  • works great
Works great. Well priced without having to return core. I fit it into my 2011 Honda Odyssey myself, replacing the same brand/model previously purchased 3yrs ago from NAPA Auto. Replaced due to failure caused by dripping oil from VTEC solenoid.

  • Works
It fit and has worked well for the first 10K miles. Hopefully it will last 190K like the original did.

  • Amazon said it would fit in my car…It was a different alternator with different specs
Bought product Amazon said it would fit my 2013 Honda odyssey, and it did not. The measurements were different, they most likely gave me a Pilot or Ridgeline alternator and those have different measurements.

  • Denso makes OEM, buy this over other aftermarket for Honda
Why go with any other brand when Denso makes OEM for Honda? They know what they are doing. If you can't get OEM, get Denso. Only thing I would note is my rebuild one came from Denso USA, whereas OEM is Denso Japan. I prefer Denso Japan but it is next to impossible to know before purchase. My original had over 200k, and really only failed because I had the dreaded Vtec solenoid gasket oil leaking all over it and likely was the root cause of the burnout. I even thought about trying to clean out the OEM and replace components until I found Denso rebuilt ones and figured I would not bother. I wish we had dedicated rebuilders that will take apart, replace bearings, and rewind our OEM alternators like they used to (and still do in other countries like mexico, india etc...) but since it is nearly impossible for most to find rebuilders this is the next best thing to OEM. ... show more

  • More affordable alternative
This is a drop-in replacement. I’m withholding one star as I can’t speak to its durability/longevity at this time. The alternator could’ve been packaged a little better in its box, but it arrived in one piece and undamaged. It took me about 1.5 hours to replace the alternator, serpentine belt, and the tensioner pulley. Some installation tips: - Remove the air filter intake to access the battery cables - Remove the plastic cover on the top of the radiator - Remove the intake plenum plastic cover - Disconnect the connector at the #1 ignition coil - Remove the #1 ignition coil - Pull the P/S fluid reservoir from its bracket - Remove the P/S fluid reservoir’s bracket - Pull the coolant overflow from its bracket and pull the hard line and hose from the mounting clips - Remove the coolant overflow’s bracket - Remove the A/C low pressure hose mount from the strut tower After completing all of that you should have *just* enough room to wiggle the alternator out and up top where the P/S fluid reservoir and coolant overflow used to be. - Move the rubber boot and disconnect the connector at the alternator - Move the rubber boot and disconnect the main battery cable from the alternator using a 12mm socket - The alternator’s bottom bolt takes a 14mm socket - The alternator’s upper mounting bracket has two 12mm bolts; completely remove this bracket prior to attempting to pulling the alternator **Important note**: People have left complaints about the alternator not fitting the stock mounting location. You have to use channel locks or something with enough weight, but small enough to fit in the confined space to knock the sleeve in the bottom mount towards the passenger side. It’s there to take up any clearance and it’ll slide towards the driver’s side when the 14mm is torqued. - Torque the 14mm bolt to 33 ft-lbs - Torque the 12mm bolts at the bracket to 16 ft-lbs ... show more

  • Installed on 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite
Yes , I know all the part stores call for a different model . Nope . Buy this 1 for half the cost . Denso company rebuilt . Came inside a Denso branded box . Brand new build quality from Denso means they RULE!. Fit PERFECT first try . No grinding needed at all . (this is my 4 alternator I have installed) Battery light immediately went off Checked voltage with a meter .Pushing the 120 amps these vans need to run the multitude of accessories. Do NOT hesitate , Buy it . It will save you money and the time it would take to replace it if using another brand . Denso ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK with my Hondas . And again THANK YOU Amazon Prime !!!!Every store in town ZERO stock , Prime had us driving within 3 days . Yes ! I love it . ... show more

  • Great OEM Brand
Highly recommended! Installed and my battery discharging issues went away. This is a brand you can trust, from my experience, and a certified refurbished part with excellent final quality. It's hard to get a brand new unit anyways.

  • Received with broken part
Been waiting to get this in my vehicle but received the item with broken part. Had to use my original part on this to ensure water sealed. Item works great. Will see how long it will last. If you have a Pilot make sure to review Service Bulletin 20-023 front rocker arm oil control valve leaks. This is probably why your alternator is going out so early. I would give this a 1 star if Amazon wasn't given me a partial refund. ... show more
