  • Switched from all Kicker to all CT Sounds after testing 1 meso 8" sub!
Size: 8 Inch - Dual 4 Ohm
I have been a long time Kicker fan. Running their amps, speakers and subs due to listening to a lot of rock and metal. I decided to test out one of these ct sounds 8" subs and it hit pretty well though I did not have enough rms in the amp to feed the full 800 watts to this sub so I decided to upgrade my amp. I upgraded to test the ct sounds 1000.1 mono and this sub hit hard! Metal sounded amazing so I switched to some deep bass rap. I was very impressed at the diversity of this sub, so I decided to get 3 more meso 8" subs! I again upgraded my system to the ct sounds 2000.1. I purchased 2 of them. I am running 2 meso 8" subs per 2000.1 mono amp. I did have to do the big 3 upgrade and a 2nd battery with a 400 amp alternator to handle this much power, and I also replaced my kicker 4 channel amp with ct sounds 1000 watt 4 channel amp(150.4) and changed out my kicker door speakers with CT Sounds meso 6.5 component sets. I have completely rebuilt my whole system after testing 1 of these subs! The bass is tremendous with these subs as long as you calculate the rms correctly! I also rebuilt my truck from Kicker to all CT Sounds after my edge! I went with the meso 6.5 subs, 6x9s and meso 6.5 component sets in the doors. If you are only wanting punchy bass the 6.5s are great, though the 8" subs are very diverse and I'd recommend those if you can go that route. If you have not tested out CT Sounds I definitely recommend it! The price for the amazing sound quality is more than worth it! ... show more

  • Good subs for price point
Size: 8 Inch - Dual 4 Ohm
Sound awesome. Yet to have any issues. Good size as well for most boxes. Good punch. Running 2 on a 1k watt amp and it tickles your nose for sure.

  • Deep Bass
Size: 8 Inch - Dual 4 Ohm
I am a novice when it comes to car audio but definitely consider myself a “bass head”. I decided to purchase 2 meso 8” subs and I am not disappointed! I can’t believe how punchy these subs are. It’s like someone is hitting my car with a sledgehammer. I typically just throw a budget system in my cars but decided to step up just a bit from the $75 woofer. I include this because someone with more experience may not agree with me. I was looking at the sundown 8” x series but decided to save a few hundred plus I had already purchased the CT sounds dual 8” box and the 1500 CT Amp. Both the box and the amp would have not paired well with sundown so I backed out of that purchase. Regardless if sundown subs had more power I do not believe I can handle more than the meso 8” on a daily Do not hesitate on these! I am amazed at the power and can feel every note. ... show more

  • Outstanding subwoofer, very stout so be careful of your speaker wires!!
Size: 8 Inch - Dual 4 Ohm
I bought 2 of the 8" D4's with the manufacturer recommendation that these subs will perform well in an enclosure of .3 cubic feet per sub. Well, after the subs arrived, I built a box with that recommendation in mind, and my door speakers are louder. I'm powering these subs with a hifonics colossus amplifier, 2200 watts. I've built many boxes, and even have done some competitions (since the late 90's), so I have some experience building boxes. Once again, my door speakers are louder. So right now, I'm quite unhappy. I will update this review once I build a ported box this up coming weekend. As of right now though, as I've stated before, I'm quite unhappy. Update: So after got home for work, I decided to give the sub woofers one last look before building a whole new box. What I had discovered upon pulling the subs out, is that one of the speaker wires got pinched off due to so little clearance. If you notice from my pictures, I doubled the baffle, and I believe the speaker wires hit that since the sub is so stout! What I had to do when putting the subs back into the enclosure this time is get the wires as flat as possible against the subwoofer so they wouldn't get pinched off. I'm happy to say that this set up is amazing, and works great!! I'm definitely happy with these subs and how well they perform in such a small enclosure. ... show more
