  • Wow, great sound at a great price!
Fantastic value for a modest price!! Being a sealed box, this thing has some serious punch. I've got the low-pass around 60-80 Hz so I'm not dredging up mud. (It may be clean at 40 HZ, I just haven't had time to test it yet)The Planet Audio 1500 watt (400 RMS) amp obviously isn't high-end but it puts out clean sound and the fit and finish is certainly nothing to be embarrassed about. I read somewhere that a better amp will make the sub sound even better but the Planet Audio seems to work just fine. My first attempt at adding a sub was a kicker 10" sealed box and a kicker 125-watt amp but it, well, sucked so I returned it. Overall, I am very satisfied with this MTX package except as noted below. I played about 30 songs today that ranged from Rap to Hip-hop to Classic Rock to new metal and with only a moderate adjustment to the gain control knob each music style was properly represented. For anyone on a smaller budget, if you have the space definitely take a look at this kit or get the sub box by itself and buy your own quality amp and wiring kit. Pros: MASSIVE sound and the speakers look really cool Clean(er) bass due to it having a sealed box No trunk death rattle at high volume (YMMV - my car has a fully insulated trunk) Remote gain control knob - great for those times when you don't want extra bass but don't want to stop and pull the fuse Cons: Questionable wiring kit quality No default speaker grilles or bars included - style and tastes vary so I can kinda understand this but at the very least something compatible should be an add-on option I won't take off a star for the Boss wiring kit that was included with the amp. As you can see in the picture, their 8 gauge hot lead compared to a Scosche 8 gauge kit shows a huge difference. The Boss wire is fine-strand wire and the plastic is very soft, almost like lamp-cord wire whereas the Scosche plastic is firmer but not hard and the strands are a good bit thicker (My automatic wire strippers couldn't even strip the Boss wire insulation it was so soft). I'm not sure which one is really 8 gauge but I'll keep my Scosche kit and save the Boss kit for random shop projects since I'll never use that stuff inside a car. My config, if you are interested: 2018 Challenger - 6 speaker Alpine (stock) - 8" touchscreen head unit (stock) Scosche Speaker level to RCA converter (tapped into rear speakers with 3M Scotchlok tap connectors) Planet Audio 1500 Watt amp (400 RMS ) - Remote startup activated from converter listed above MTX Terminator Dual 12" Scosche 8 Gauge wiring kit and 40 Amp Maxi-fuse GS Power's 12 inch Bar Grille (x2) uxcell HS-023 Stainless Steel 304 Compression Spring Draw Toggle Latch Clamp, 95mm Long, Pack of 4 (finicky to install - have to open latch hook angle a bit and also angle the screws into the underside of the sub box - pre-drilled small pilot holes) Even though I'm using a latch system I will still be creating something to wedge between the top of the sub box and the bottom of the speaker shelf. Future plans: I'm going to add a small capacitor as insurance against starving the amp and the charging system/battery. ... show more

  • Great for the price
They hit harder then I exspected usually u gotta pay thousands of dollars for a good system but this one I have no complaints about they sound great hit hard and the amp runs great with them I would recommend getting a capacitor though it just helps keep things stable that’s just me though I’ve always bought a capacitor just to keep power to it and the battery without draining it but all in all great product ... show more

  • Amazing deal. Don’t sleep on MTX
Honestly was surprised by what I got for the price. I have a full-size truck and the sound is just amazing. Install was easy but I’m an electrician so considering I work with wires all day it should be easy 😂 but can’t really complain about anything didn’t have to buy anything besides some zip ties to dress up all the cables. Would buy again. Had them about 6 months now still no problems out of them and I use them almost everyday. ... show more

  • Great product and great response time from Customer Service
This review isn't a review on the product, will update probably by Tuesday or Wednesday, (the next 4ish days from this) but I wanted to shout out the company selling these. As some others have mentioned they got two shipments. SUBS in one, amp and wires in another. I messaged through Amazon and asked for the other this morning (Saturday very early) and got a reply in like 5 minutes with the other number. Seems they will both arrive today! UPDATE: had a chance to get them in sooner than I thought. Surprisingly easy install, usually I run into an issue and I didn't this time, though I prepped more than I usually have. I recommend a 4 wiring kit instead of an 8 and make sure this amp can vent, it gets warm. Happy with the purchase. I do want to mention tho, this amps ratings are a straight up lie. Look up dyno tests, the actual rms is about 20% what's being advertised. That being said, they still bump and the package is cheap enough to let it slide, just don't think you're actually getting those results from it. ... show more

  • Nice value
Put this in my 2010 Malibu. It’s a nice system. The wiring kit was decent but the ground wire could have been a lot longer. Otherwise happy with this. I’ll have to mess with all the amp settings at some point. I did not install the amp gain switch, works fine how it is.

Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2024 by I bought this option mostly because it came with spare battery. I am far beyond impressed with the power and quality parts. Im a carpenter by trade and ive set my other power drills aside and use this full time! The name is fitting

  • I wouldn't recommend
Pretty much every component was garbage, seriously, I know the price is cheap but it's better to have cash in your pocket than garbage in your trunk. Was not loud at all, I've had single 12"s with half the advertised wattage hit twice as hard. Left rca input on amp was loose. Wiring kit was..... well if you buy you'll find out, lol. ... show more
