  • My review
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
I personally love them the bass is Amazon with the mtx amp I really enjoyed this projuct was hard to install in my car but honestly I’d do it again the size was perfect for fitting in my trunk and the overall speaker size is insane, the subs definitely sound good with a 1000 watt amp but honestly if you got bigger they sound a lot better , the overall functionality and compatibility of these subs and the box setup it’s just perfect for my use and style ... show more

  • Amazing for the price
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
Ran these MTX dual 12s in my 2006 Mustang powered by an Alpine S A60M and they hit hard for the price. Good low end punch without sounding muddy, and they handled power well as long as they were tuned correctly. I’ve since moved them over to my Silverado with a different amp and they’re still going strong. For a budget friendly setup they perform really well and hold up over time. Definitely a solid option if you want strong bass without spending a ton. ... show more

  • Broke after a month.... Update:
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
Terminal broke after just a little over a month. The negative port is warped and it stopped working today. Awesome. Thanks.... Update!: So last month I got ahold of mtx and told them what happened to my subs and wanted to see if they will replace it. They got back to me the very next day. They were more than happy to replace it and emailed me a return shipping label to send it back for free. It took me a while to get around to it (around 2 weeks) and I was worried they wouldn't take replace it but I took the subs, put em in the box they came in, slapped the sticker on and scheduled FedEx to come pick it up. They said it might take up to a month for them to send it out due to backlogs from covid and to my surprise they got one back to me in 2 weeks exactly. Here's the kicker, I swear the replacement was a better model. The first sub was really amazing but it didn't beat my old pair of Quinn acoustics. This new pair shakes my car, windows, can be heard across a parking lot clear as day, can be heard inside buildings and even felt inside buildings. It even shakes my vision. I genuinely can't read street signs because everything looks like a blur. I love them. By far the best subs I've ever heard. They are competition grade. Update as of 02/21/22: my left one blew and mtx was super amazing again about their customer service. They have a life long customer. I love the subs and love the company. Thank you MTX! ... show more

  • Wow this is an awesome deal!
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
I've been into stereo systems since the late 90s and used to be sponsored by 3 different stores in my town back in the early 2000s. I've had some extremely high end items in the past costing thousands of dollars. I have been out of the game for a while now that I am older, but in my wife's brand new 2023 Kia K5 she just hated that the stock speaker system was abysmal and had little to no bass. I bought this boxed 2 12 set and for the price I thought how can this be good for such a low price? Back in my time MTX was an expensive brand, used by many people and sold in stores like Curcuit City and was not cheap. But times have changed! This setup was $150 and man for what you get it honestly pounds! It is installed in the closed trunk of my wife's 2023 Kia K5 and leaves plenty of trunk space still. I bought a Boss monoblock amp that was linked on this page as being what others had looked at, and the amp powers these perfectly. My wife doesn't like things loud but just needed some extra punch given her last car had a BOSE stock system that at least gave some bass. I have the gain set to about 10% and it's plenty loud for her! Coming from prior more expensive systems in my day, this is a stellar item for the price and will more than be enough for anyone looking for some punch to their system without spending a small fortune! ... show more

  • CHECK WIRING!!!!!
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
I won't take anything away from these subs. The package is a good deal and the subs were pretty good. HOWEVER, there are a couple things you need to know if you don't already. What REALLY matters is what the RMS wattage is of your amp and subs and to properly match them to get the most out of both the amp and subs. The "1200 watts" listed in the title means nothing, same with your amp. What you want to look for is the RMS wattage. Individually these subs are 4 ohm subs at 200 watts RMS each, which is fine. They advertise that the subs are wired inside the box (parallel) so that the final impedence is 400 watts RMS at 2 ohms. Which is exactly what you would get wiring them in parallel. I have a mono block amp, one channel, that pushes 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms, which is a good match for these subs. Just don't crank up the gain too far and you can push the subs to the max. UNFORTUNATELY, these subs started to go after about two weeks. They are in my son's car and I attributed the failure to him jacking the amp gain up too high, which he said he didn't. So, we bought another pair of higher RMS rated subs to throw in the box. Popped open the box and the original subs were NOT WIRED IN PARALLEL !!! They were wired in the standard fashion resulting in 4 ohms at 200 watts RMS final. If you buy these, CHECK THE WIRING. There is enough wire in the box to wire them properly. Hope this helps. 5 stars for the package and price, 4 stars for wrong wiring in the box. ... show more

  • SOUNDS RAD
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
For the price these hit hard. I was skeptical cause of the cheap price but they are amazing. I got lucky, I caught these and the boss amp/wiring kit on a really good sale. I got everything needed for $350 then went to Best Buy where they installed them THE SAME DAY I got them for $149. So from start to finish $600 for everything done, is nuts. Highly recommend. If your dash kit is too expensive or you don’t have the money for a head unit, just buy a Line Output Converter which allows you to connect your subs and amp to your stock radio. That’s what I did, and I use a Bluetooth transmitter and they hit hard and sound good. If you’re on a budget then go with these and the boss amp, and boss wiring kit. Call your local Best Buy set up appointment and boom. DONE ... show more

  • Worked for about 2 hrs of play time
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
Well good news: Sounded ok for low budget subs/ Impressed with the sound quality for what I payed for.... Bad news: One subwoofer decided that 190 watt rms was too much and decided to blow a voice coil after about two hours total play time... never turned it up all the way either!!! One sub still works but just sounds like crap with the other bad sub in the box, gonna try and sell the individual sub and and the box if they wont replace the bad sub.... I had it hooked to a 720 watt crossfire on one channel, and this box is bridged with only one terminal at 2 ohms, also this amp is 2 ohm stable at 380 watt rms on one channel (but considering the level of play i doubt it was receiving all 380 watts to both subs) Worst part: I loved MTX and always had their subs since the old old old thunder series in the early 90's when I was just a teenager... now it seems that everytime I buy a sub from the company it never ends well, gonna be the first time I try their customer service through amazon, I will keep it posted on results when I have time New addition: MTX and the distributor were very quick with responding and gave a full refund, which was very nice and professional, they were so nice I never actually had to talk to them by phone! Excellent service, maybe this is why ZI stick with the known brands (PS: my math up top was wrong each terminal gets half of the 720 watts for a total of 360 not 380 oops) ... show more

  • An excellent deal.
Style: Dual 12" Subwoofer Enclosure Subwoofer
Considering the price of wood nowadays, to get a subwoofer box with two subwoofers in it for this price I feel is a very good deal. Now you're not going to win any competitions with these. That being said if you're just starting out this would be a very good setup to go with. The sound quality is excellent, this one is a sealed box, not ported. And so far I really like how they sound. The woofers are not super robust, they don't have huge magnets on the back, but if you wanted to push 400 watts to them, they would handle it just fine, Long as you're not distorting. In the past what this box costs I have spent on a single subwoofer. And I believe these seem to sound just as good. They just don't get as loud as a much more expensive subwoofer could. There are two four ohm woofers wired down to two ohms. So if you're going to run these make sure your amp can handle it 2 ohm load. ... show more
