Description

The Rockville RV12.2B is a complete bass system featuring dual 12" subwoofers (1200W peak / 400W RMS, CEA-2031 rated), a dedicated 400W RMS mono amplifier (CEA-2006 compliant), and a full 8-gauge amplifier wiring kit. This bundle is designed for car audio enthusiasts who want powerful, clean, and efficient bass without the guesswork. The subwoofers are housed in a Quasi Transmission Line cabinet, angled at 15 degree for optimized in-vehicle bass projection. Built from 3/5" MDF and covered in aviation-grade tweed carpet, the enclosure is rugged and acoustically tuned. Each subwoofer features injection molded, talc-filled polypropylene cones, butyl rubber surrounds, 3-D molded dust caps, and high-power aluminum 4-layer voice coils for consistent performance. The included mono amplifier delivers 200W RMS @ 4 ohm and 400W RMS @ 2 ohm, with a high-speed MosFET power supply, subsonic filter (10Hz-50Hz), adjustable low- pass crossover (50Hz-250Hz), and bass EQ (+/-12dB @ 45Hz). The system is weak! The amp they send you do nothing for their 12’s speakers. They should only send that amp for 10’s and under. The box is cool. What I did was switch amps (cause I have 2 vehicles) I put my 3000 Planet Audio on these speakers plus infinity 12 speaker and switch their amp to my kickers 10’s in the other car. 2 stars cause I like the box for my future 12’s. But box and wiring kit almost cover the $200 if you really look at it. The amp is actually ok on them 10 kickers. But I wish I didn’t have to do nothing. That’s why you got the 2 stars. Will purchase piece by piece like the 1st time next time. Had to update. The amp is now cutting on and off from the overheating. DO NOT BUY. I have bought another Planet Audio 3000 amp to replace this and planning on buying 12 speakers to replace in their box! I can’t understand how this item got more than 2 stars in the reviews. My kicker 10’s are way better than these 12’s. Hit harder and everything! They barely hit! 😅 If you want to give this crap a chance keep the box intact for ease of packaging and shipping back to their butts! ... show more

For the price it’s great, adds good bass and is easy to setup since the wiring kit is included. I’ve had the Rockville dual 8s in my other car and they have lasted 4 years on max boost with 60% gain, so I’m sure these will last long aswell. My only complaint is that with the dual 12s they sound like are a bit underpowered but for 200$ who cares they are great. ... show more

TLDR: Misleading Advertising Only 200 Watts RMS, not 400 1200W Peak is a number that doesn't tell you anything useful, RMS is the actual constant power rating to compare to other subwoofers. Good Value Good for people new to subwoofers Easy to install Full Review: First of all, the subs and all work fairly well. Going into these not knowing anything, I liked them, but now upgrading my setup, I did more research, and these are very misleading on their advertising. The amplifier is rated as follows: RMS: 200W @ 4 Ohms; 400W @ 2 Ohms Peak: 1200W --> Doesn't matter, it's a dumb number that you don't need to think about. It is not possible to achieve the 400W @ 2 Ohms, as the subwoofers cannot be wired down to 2 Ohms. The subwoofers are 8 Ohm SVC subwoofers. This means that the subwoofers can only be wired to 4 Ohms resistance, which the amplifier can only put out 200W at. These sub are likely rated for 200W RMS and 600W Peak each. There's also a lot of useless information advertised and a lack of useful info, such as not advertising the Resonant Frequency. Now if you're looking for a subwoofer kit that's easy to install and still gets any bass virgins feeling some thumps, this works great. It's also still pretty well worth the money for what it actually is. They're not necessarily lying at any point in their description, they're just being misleading. If you're looking for something good quality and reputable, this ain't it chief. ... show more
