    • Fantastic Value!
Hey tech enthusiasts, gear heads, and everybody in between! 🖥️ So, I scored the Crucial P5 Plus 2TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 Gaming SSD on Amazon Prime Day, and let me tell ya, it feels like I've hit the storage jackpot! Alright, let’s break it down. First off, the value. I mean, Prime Day is known for its killer deals, but snagging this SSD felt like I'd uncovered a hidden gem. For the storage capacity and performance I got, the price was a no-brainer. Now, the real deal: I set this baby up to dual boot Windows and Linux on my System76 Oryx Pro laptop, and it's been like watching a match made in heaven. Seamless, smooth, and oh-so-satisfying. Both OS boots up like they've got jetpacks strapped on, which is exactly what you'd want in a gaming SSD. Speaking of speeds, the read and write speeds on this? Stellar. I mean, unless you’re some sort of ultra-pro data transferring wizard, this SSD is going to be more than up to par. I've thrown games, software, big ol' files at it, and it just keeps on delivering without breaking a sweat. The cherry on top? That lovely 3D NAND tech. It feels like I’ve got a little future-packed rectangle right in my laptop, ensuring reliability and efficiency every step of the way. To sum it up, if you're on the fence about diving into the SSD world or just looking to upgrade, the Crucial P5 Plus should be a strong contender. And if you ever see it on sale? Jump on it faster than a cat on a laser point. 🐱🔦 ... show more

    • Amazon has the odd policy where they won't price match their own prices
So I originally bought this for a certain price, but then the price dropped even further so I contacted customer service to see if they would price match the newer lower price. They do not. Only certain items. I believe the rep said certain appliances. So the rep said I could order it again for the newer lower price and return the other one. Which seemed to me to be very inefficient. It just makes more sense to refund the price difference to the customer rather than ordering it a second time, using more unnecessary labor from Amazon and the delivery people, gas, and time, then the same when returning an item. When all you have to do is return the price difference to the customer on the computer. One simple step version shipping the same item twice, and having the customer return the 1st one. Waste of resources and time. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has come across this. In the old days, retailers price matched, no questions asked. They just did it on the computers and refunded the difference either cash or back to the credit card you used. Amazon has all the payment records. It should be easy for them to do that, a multi billion dollar company, and they can't price match products sold from their website. Either way, I'm happy with my purchase itself. The product works like it's supposed to. I had to figure out an alternative way to image my entire drive on my older SSD to transfer all my data and OS to the new SSD. The one that I could get through crucial has a flaw. You have to have the SSD installed first before you can image what is on your current hard drive. Since I am replacing rather than added an SSD, I had to look for alternative imaging software to image my drive first. Then stall the new CRUCIAL ssd, and then copy the image to it. I also had to figure out how to merge the unallocated space on the new drive into the same drive C: I've now since figured it out and I'm happy with it. ... show more

    • Excellent SSD memory expansion for PS5
This is the perfect solution for expanding PS5 memory. It's fast, 6600MB/sec, and actually adds 2TB to the internal storage of the PS5, which is only 667.2GB usable memory. That's important because you can play PS5 games from this memory, unlike external USB SSDs or hard drives which will store games but won't allow you to play them. It was easy to install in the SSD slot inside the PS5, especially if you watch the short videos in the review section of the product page. Be sure to purchase the compatible heat sink, also on the product page, to reduce any heat caused by the SSD. There is no noticeable lag when playing games stored on the SSD, it's just like playing them from the internal memory. This was largest and fastest PS5 compatible SSD at the time of purchase. This is a great addition to an already great console, especially if you have a PS network membership. Space fills up really fast when you start collecting free PS5 games. Have fun. ... show more

    • Excellent choice to expand storage capacity
Purchased this 2TB drive to double my storage capacity via a USB hub, and I have been very happy with the performance. When exporting large quantities of photos, I notice no difference in the write speeds between my internal SSD and this Crucial drive. When I copy/share large files via secondary attached USB memory, it also seems highly responsive. I basically use this device for large temporary projects/files, including photo and video editing. I am not using it for gaming. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the choice -- it was a great value, worked as advertised, and so far, I have not had any issues whatsoever. ... show more

    • Easy, works. Nothing else needs to be said.
Purchased to expand the storage in my PlayStation and it has done just that. It works so well that I have practically forgotten that it is in there and that speaks to its quality. It was easy to install and needs no addition though beyond the initial installation.

    • Works. Fast. No problems in gaming laptop
Gaming laptop (I9, 32gigs ram, 16gig 3080) came with a 512gig offbrand and 1tb offbrand NVME and I was not confident with the no name brand... So being I had a 1TB Samsung I could replace the boot drive with already, I bought this 2tb drive based on prior good experience with other Crucial SSDs, to replace the 1tb secondary 'game catalog' drive. Easy as putting it in a NVME USB-C enclosure, and using backup software to copy the drive. Open the laptop, swap the drives and I was up and running with the new drive. Speed is good, no issues with the copy, just had to assign it the 'D' drive letter in Windows 11. Now I have plenty of room to install the rest of my games. ... show more
