This chlorinated brake cleaner is da bomb, it cleans off gunk, grease, crud, and corruption faster than a bucket of water will melt the Wicked Witch of the West. It works better and faster than its cousin, NON-chlorinated brake cleaner (also produced by CRC, at a higher price). Other good things are that (unlike the non-chlor. variety) it dries almost instantaneously and is non-flammable, so it can be used on hot engines. That's the good stuff. The bad: (a) it will damage some kinds of plastic (but that's a trifling matter compared to the other issue); (b) it can kill you if you're not careful. You need to use it outdoors with a good breeze blowing, or in a shop with absolutely great ventilation. Because it's full of chemical compounds that will either kill you or cause nasty health issues down the road...and not very far down the road, either. Not a joke, you really do need to be careful with this stuff. So OK, once you know that, you take precautions, and try to stay as safe as possible. One problem. THIS PRODUCT ISN'T LABELED AS CHLORINATED BRAKE CLEANER ANYWHERE IN THE LISTING, unless you go to the "Technical Details", where it shows the "model" is "Chlorintated (sic) brake parts cleaner". Yeah, if you read the (teeny-tiny) print on the back of the can, it describes the health issues fully. But it's my firm belief that the Amazon listing should clearly state, in bold letters, "CAUTION - CHLORINATED BRAKE CLEANER", or words to that effect. I still use this in preference to it's safer cousin. It works better and faster, it dries in an instant, and it's not flammable. But anyone using this stuff should be warned about its dangers. So I subtracted one star.

Bought to use in my Sure Shot refillable sprayer. CRC is a great brake cleaner that I have always used to clean automotive parts and oil leaks. It's a very effective degreaser and cleaner and, at this size, it's a fantastic value for those that are trying to get away from disposable aerosol cans. It comes in a gallon size which is plenty for most at-home mechanics. The jug that it comes in is very sturdy and doesn't have any problems leaking or cracking.
