Upon arrival, I was disappointed in the Damascus etching (that it was printed on), but was (and still am) quite pleased with the sharpness and performance of the set. I clean it prior to each use, then immediately wash, dry, then oil them after use. They get used regularly, have kept their edge, thanks to the rod, and have only required sharpening maybe twice in a year. Although they require maintenance, which I was never used to, I am still very pleased with the set!

I'm a Chef by trade. I've been using these knives for about 8 months now. The "Damascus" marks are obviously etched on, but you wouldn't be paying this price if they were real. The blades are sharp, they keep their sharpness for a decent amount of time, and are easy to hone. My only complaint is the handles...they WILL crack eventually, but is an easy fix. I bought this set for work, but am considering another set for home so I don't have to keep shuffling them back and forth

…they will rust after 1-2weeks of service!!! Wanted to be at 2.5 stars but I favored the bump to 3 because I’m sure they will continue to be useful as long as my tetanus booster is up to date. I got these for my wife, she requested them for our anniversary. Didn’t want to disappoint so I shopped really early. Found these knives and received them very quickly! They were all that was requested by her and couldn’t wait to gift them. Two weeks later they were opened. One week after that they were in service. Week and a half (of HAND WASH ONLY use!!) later, rust spots. At that point I was about 4-5 days outside the return window so this review is to serve as a warning. IF you can’t resist this set and buy them, don’t wait to use them because you will need the return time. Very disappointing from an otherwise well performing, and great feeling set.
