My husband asked me to buy it for our car because it was showing check engine light and the dealership gave us a quote to change one catalytic converter for 4K+. He wanted to give it a try. Poured one bottle, drove the car 25+ miles and took to the mechanic and had the car inspected. It passed the state inspection as well and the engine light didn’t come back yet. Even if it worked for a short period before we have to change it it’s still worth it.

After watching a bunch of positive Youtube testimonials, I was hopeful Cataclean would clear the P0420 code that appeared after two days after I replaced the gunky fuel injector that caused an engine misfire in Bank 1, Cylinder 1 of my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6L. NO DICE! Long story short, my engine started misfiring several hundred miles from home. If I didn't want to be stranded, I had to keep driving the car, which I did. Ultimately, I diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel injector (Bank 1, Cylinder 1). Replaced all six injectors, and now the engine runs like new again. EXCEPT, two days later my check engine light comes on. It's a P0420 code, which in nearly all cases means a bad catalytic converter. Driving with a misfire probably fouled the catalyst. Damn. But with the many positive reviews for Cataclean, I thought, "Why not give it a try?" In fact, I did it twice with two different bottles. In both cases, the P0420 code reappeared. I give Cataclean 3 stars because it obviously works for other indications given the many positive reviews out there. But it definitley did not fix my P0420 code after engine misfiring. I'm on the hook for a new catalytic converter.

This has not been used yet. I'm going by what was told to me. This solution works by cleaning all the debris from the converter.

I have used this product in the past whenever my computer triggered the dreaded P420/430 code and it worked at cleaning out my cat system, and resetting the check engine light for a decent amount of time. However the check engine light recently began tripping more frequently and after some research on trouble shooting the problem, I replaced all the O2 sensors which did not fix the problem. When I took my vehicle in for service with my mechanic, he essentially told me that my cats were toast. I tried using CataClean once more after throwing another P430 code, unfortunately it did not work this time. Perhaps I had been more diligent with using this product on a consistent basis I would have saved myself the cost of having to get new cats.
