We are pleased with our new kettle. What I like about this electric kettle is that the exterior stays cool enough that you can’t burn yourself. You still have to be careful when pouring to avoid spilling hot water by not tipping the kettle too fast and too much - especially when it just turned off and you can hear bubbling inside. It is much larger than the very old Krups it replaces but does not contain more water, so the size is deceptive. People who complained that there were little white stains on the bottom within a few days probably emptied the kettle completely and since the bottom heating element remains very hot, the last drops of water in the kettle boil off and evaporate. The double wall design for this electric kettle is what makes this such a good product. Double wall electric kettles are a must-have if you boil lots of water. Your old single wall electric kettle still wastes a significant amount of energy through the walls, and stove top kettles (on electric coil stoves) are the worst. Since all the heat is contained within the inner vessel, this might as well be one of the most efficient electric devices for boiling water, next to a microwave which is about 60% efficient at boiling water. Insta-pots are also incredibly efficient as well since they also form a vacuum seal between the inner and outer wall. Technically gas stoves/dryers are more "heat efficient" than electric/induction stoves since most electricity used to power the stove tops in the first place come from your local gas-fired or coal-fired power plant (honestly it depends on your energy mix). Accounting for combined-cycle turbine efficiency losses, boiling water with natural gas beats boiling water with electricity in almost all cases. It's just the reality of thermodynamics. The best, most "environmentally friendly" way to boil or heat anything with solar energy is with a glass vacuum heating chamber, but we're just not there yet as a species. I first encountered these awesome little appliances when visiting Scotland recently. Every place we stayed had these electric kettles that boil the water so quickly, I knew I just had to have one when I returned home to the US. I found this Cosori kettle for a great price. I have used it every day since it was delivered to make tea, boil water quickly to pour into the pasta pot, and a few other applications. I love how fast the water heats up and how it shuts itself off once it has reached a boil. It looks very attractive on the countertop. I love this pot! It heats water quickly and isn't noisy! I have a different brand that is smaller and it makes a lot of noise! I do wish the lid opened all the way, but I still like this pot! I have small hands so I can reach inside to clean it easily.

I just received my pot today. I preformed the test pot max fill (Brita filtered water), let it boil until it shut off, let it sit for 5 min., then dumped it into dish water. I refilled halfway with my filtered water and turned it on. It took 3 min. to boil before it shut off and the temp of water was 160* I then unplugged my cord and placed my pot on a heat resistant silicone pad. I don't know how long it will retain the temp as this is my first pot and I just wanted a cup of tea. I placed one Red Rose teabag (black tea) in my cup and poured my water over it. I do like that my tea is nice and dark, I prepared it plain so I could taste the water from pot boil and my tea tasted great! No residue or metal taste. My microwave never seemed to get that dark color from my tea bags when cooked for 3 min. in there, then I would place the bag in afterwards. So far so good. Will update if any issues arise. The person who sent me a question to my email (I could not find it on here). Question: Is this stainless steel kettle cordless? I didn't see it mentioned. It looks like it may sit on a separate heating element -- is that correct? Amswer : This Kettle has a separate heating element, and it shuts off when water temp is reached. It doesn't keep temperature after it shuts off...I hope this answers your question. ... show more

Really am enjoying my new Cosori Electric Kettle, really fast at heating the water and love that the switch lights up blue when on and clicks off when water is boiling. It is a large unit, I could have used a smaller one just for me. I don't fill it up to the top. I like that the lid opens just a bit when you push the button on the handle, letting the steam and excess water droplets run down inside the unit instead of on the counter. Really a very nice Electric Kettle. Would recommend purchasing this Kettle. Like the sleek design of it. ... show more

I wanted to get an electric kettle, but didn’t want to spend that much. A number of ones that I saw were very pricey. They may have had more features and ones that I didn’t necessarily need. This kettle boils water so quickly, which is great especially when I’m in a rush. I like that it automatically turns off when it’s done boiling, so if I need to step away for a few minutes, I can safely leave it.
