I was a little skeptical about buying this. But I just pruned a large tree in our backyard. I was able to cut branches up to 6" in diameter in only 2 minutes. 2" branches in less than a minute. The saw is very light weight and easy to handle. So, if it bucks while cutting it is easy to gain control. I cut half the tree down and the chain is still sharp. I haven't had to use the second chain that comes with the kit. Over the years I've owned several gas chainsaws with 14"-16" bars. They were heavy and dangerous to use while on a ladder. Also, very loud and messy. The cordless mini is quiet and easy to use. Battery life is not the greatest but the kit comes with two batteries. So, it is simple and quick to rotate the batteries and recharge. Definitely worth the price. ... show more

I had been using large pruning shears to clean up branches on a large tree. For branches that were too big for the shears, I used a reciprocating saw. It worked, but of course with the thin blade and being heavy it was a little tough to use on higher branches. The cordless chainsaw solved those issues. It cuts quick, is easy to handle (light), and a great size. It is big enough and strong enough for most normal trimming / cutting. Totally happy with the saw. When I used it on my next trimming project, I was very pleased on how quick and easy the task was with the mini saw. I am very impressed with this cordless mini chainsaw. It is lightweight, durable, efficient and extremely easy to use. Once it arrived, I opened the package and it was ready to go. I tested one of the batteries and it was already fully charged. So far, I have used this to cut down some small trees, some branches and all of my overgrown butterfly bushes/trees ... I have loved this 6in chainsaw. It’s lightweight, good battery life, works great to trim smaller tree branches and bushes. Easy to use. However I can’t tighten the chain . The screw doesn’t fit any screw driver head that I have and the tool that was sent doesn’t work. purchased June 2023. I hope get RESPONSE from Amazon or Bomves. ... show more

    • Fast, easy to handle and effective.
Took this into the backyard and it mowed through branches fast. Trimmed many bushes and small trees within minutes. Then used it on our Christmas tree and buzzed it up into small pieces for the trash or green waste bin. Batteries charge fast. The only slight thing, is it takes a minute to figure out how to get everything back into its hard plastic case. I would buy it again. ... show more

    • Handy for Quick Jobs
I will start with the positive: This is a great little chain saw for cutting down smaller deadfall and low-hanging branches. I use it to cut through both green and dry wood up to 4" thick. a bit larger would probably be fine too. Great for cleaning up spring and fall debris. So lightweight that even I, with severe arthritis, can handle it. I definitely recommend keeping it oiled--including once you store it away for winter. The handy plastic storage kit box comes with a small bottle of oil (along with some spare chain segments and other useful items), but that won't last long. Mineral oil would be the best, which I believe is what the company included. Mineral oil won't harm your live plants/trees. The battery (comes with two!) started right out of the box and I worked fairly consistently for about 4 hours before I had to switch to the second battery and charge the first-VERY IMPRESSIVE! As for the negative-Yes, only one: There is kick-back when starting cuts. However, this is to be expected with such a light tool. I found that putting a little extra pressure down on the wood when starting with dry wood helped, and with wet/fresh wood a lighter touch when starting worked. But you'll have to play with it to see what works for you. Overall, this was money well-spent and I recommend it to anyone. ... show more

I like the size and light weight of the saw. It came very nicely packaged in a fitted plastic case and has the tools needed to adjust the chain and an extra chain. Having two batteries seems like I should have no anxiety about running out of power in the middle of a job but then it is only designed for, and I will only use it for very lightweight trimming, so I don't think I'll be out using it for long periods of time. I note that replacement chains seem to be readily available also. The only concern I have is chain lubrication. All my other chain saws have built in lubricators with a reservoir for oil. It is important to keep the chain oiled and I don't know how this is supposed to be done with this saw. It did come with a little applicator bottle that I assume is for that purpose, but the instructions are silent on this issue. I suppose I will just manually apply a little oil when using it. ... show more
