  • Very sturdy A frame ladder! Very sturdy A frame ladder!
Color: Warm Grey
We picked up this Confer Plastics 7200 Roll-Guard A-frame safety ladder for our Intex 18' x 52" above-ground pool, and after two weeks it's been a solid addition. The barrier/roll-guard feature is the main reason we chose it — being able to lift and lock the outer steps to keep kids out when the pool isn't in use gives real peace of mind. Assembly Be honest with yourself going in: this one is a little tough to assemble. There are a fair number of parts and hardware, and lining everything up takes patience — a couple of the connections needed some firm pressure to seat properly. It's doable solo but goes much smoother with a second person and a little time. Once it's together, though, it feels well-built and the heavy-duty plastic is clearly made to last outdoors. Stability Here's our honest experience: the ladder is designed to be secured/anchored to the pool, but we chose not to attach it directly to avoid the risk of putting a hole in the liner. With that tradeoff, it's still pretty sturdy and holds weight confidently, but it does have a little wobble side to side since it isn't anchored. Nothing alarming — it's safe and stable to climb — just be aware that if you skip securing it like we did, you'll trade a bit of rigidity for protecting your liner. If you don't mind anchoring it, it would likely be rock-solid. Use So Far The steps are wide and comfortable underfoot, and the roll-guard barrier rolls up and locks easily once you get the hang of it. Getting in and out of a 52"-tall pool is much safer and easier with this than the lightweight ladder that came with the pool. Honest Notes Assembly takes patience — set aside time and ideally grab a helper. A little wobbly if you choose not to anchor it (our decision, to protect the liner); secure it and that likely goes away. Two weeks in, durability looks great so far; I'll update if anything changes. Bottom Line A well-made, safety-focused A-frame ladder that's worth the assembly hassle. The roll-guard barrier is great for families, and even unanchored it's sturdy enough for confident daily use. Recommended for above-ground pool owners who want a real step up from the basic included ladder. ... show more

  • Safest & Best Ladder on the Market for Deckless Above Ground Pools.!
Color: Warm Grey
Intex 16' x 48" Ultra Frame .. This is a great ladder it's real beefy. Took about About 2 hrs to assemble. Couldn't find my rubber mallet bought new one for $10 ... also picked up two 41" black rubber bungee cords from Lowes for $6 Instructions were very clear, 4 steps to full assembly ..Step 5 is placing & securing ladder in pool. Only 2 issues 4 me .. First.. During assembly on the top of the Outside Right Rail (OR).. The pre-punched hole for the screw that locks the ladder bridge into place was not centered and would not allow the screw to line up with nut & catch threads. I used a small rat tail file to wallow out hole in the 10-11 o'clock position so bolt threads would catch and secure... left side was spot on. Second After placing the ladder into pool & filling with water ..Instructions call for mounting small plastic stabilizer rails on both sides of ladder. These stabilizer rails are secured by drilling a hole on each side of the ladder into the top rail of my pool & screwing them down. I did not see the need or benefit of drilling holes into my pool top rail and at the same time putting 2 holes in my liner that covers the top rail. The instructions state 'Be careful not to damage the pool wall or liner.' There's no way to mount the stabilizer rails without putting holes in the liner as well as the the top rail. ..I also might want to move the ladder.. The stabilizer rails in my opinion are to secure the ladder to the pool & keep it from tipping over from wild human use, you can tip the ladder without a stabilizer on it but your gonna have to really rock it a bit (The filling with water adds stability & really makes it heavy to move around) . The stabilizer rails also keep it close to the inside wall of the pool & keep little ones from trying to swim behind the ladder. What shall we do..what shall we do.. I don't want holes in my top rail or my liner & I might want to move my ladder. Introducing ...Bungee Cord Stabilizers ...Stronger, Easier and Faster to install (No Drilling holes in top rail) Or (drilling holes through liner.) B4 purchase. I read a review of same problem & realized this prob might come up with the Intex 48" Ultra Frame & it did. That's why I picked up the Bungee Cords the other review stated this was a good fix and better than the plastic stabilizers. I have to agree.! Bungee Cords make the ladder movable if should want to move it and you don't have to drill holes in the top rail & liner which just doesn't make sense to me. (4 my pool anyway) The thick black rubber bungee cords allow for wrapping with tension & pull the ladder to the side of the pool super tight against the top rail. Securing 1 side at a time & using only 1 of the S hooks on each the bungees. I thread the hook-less end of each bungee through the nice perfect holes located on each side of the ladder (pool side) just above the top step. Stretching each Bungee on each side going over the pool top rail and securing each one to the pool frame support pole that is located on each side of the ladder wrapping once around the pole for tension and securing the hook-less end of Bungee to the S hook on the opposite end. Using only 1 S hook makes a nice clean connect just under the (T) of top rail on the outside of the support pole. Perfect..! The bungees on each side pull against each other while pulling it super tight against the top rail. I have absolutely no wobble even when standing on top deck and howling at the moon. The ladder is much wider than the stock Intex ..which is not usable & dangerous Steps feel good & wide 18'' vs 13'' I'm still trying to fig who might get through the 13'' hand rails on the stock intex.. "It was like.. This is not going to happen, someone might die doing this. We all just sat around the table and looked at the stock intex .. U got 2 B kidding.. It was that bad. We could not use our pool until this ladder arrived... So I ordered the ladder.. Super fast free shipping, I ordered on night of May 24 arrived that Fri the 27 at noon across the country and at my door in 2 days free.! Amazon showed it taking a week.. but No it was moving and moving fast.! Big Box was in perfect condition ..well packed.. all parts are in sealed plastic bag and includes a key lock to lock the roll-guard, which is Just awesome..! roll-guard works like a charm..! Nice touch..! Helps Keep it kiddie safe .. Lots of R&D went into this ladder .. Much better beefy & stronger than I expected.! Even with the 2 issues I mention ..the bolt hole out of line just a bit.. and the stabilizer rails mounting issue.. I still think this is the best ladder on the market at this time for above ground pools without a deck.! My Ladder is now safe, stable & wobble free.! . Pool party tested and passed - handles small, med, large and ex-large humans.. no Prob..! I hope this review helps.. Its a great ladder.. Buy it you won't be sorry.. It's also made in the USA.! 5 stars all the way.! ... show more

  • Nice upgrade to my Intex Pool.
Color: Warm Grey
I purchased this A frame ladder to replace the one supplied with my Round 52" x 18' Intex pool. The original ladder supplied with my pool was cheap, narrow, unstable and rusted out after just two seasons. After hunting around I found this model which appeared to get good reviews and wasn't over priced. I'm really pleased with my purchase. This ladder is very stable and well designed. The Roll-Guard feature is really nice and gives you peace of mind. Assembly was relatively easy and took me about 20 minutes. This ladder mostly snaps together with very few screws. If you're not a handy person you'll probably need 45 minutes or so. As stated in some other reviews there "is" some residual plastic around the edges of the molded pieces. In my case it was minimal and I was able to still fit most of them together without trimming. Have a file handy just in case, much safer than a utility knife. Other than that assembly was very straight forward and the included instructions were mostly complete. They did fall short when it came to installing the last two stabilizers but looking at the photo on the box was enough to figure it out. I also had two long bolts left over and still can't determine their use. Once assembled this ladder is pretty stable. It does flex a little when I'm on it but at 200lbs. that's to be expected. It's also very important that it sits on even, level ground both inside and outside the pool. I had to dig a spot outside my pool so the ladder sits level and this little bit of extra work makes a difference. Once that's done you just hold the ladder in place as you fill each leg with water to weigh it down. Once the ladder is settled into place you install the two stabilizers so they touch the top edge of the pool and your done. Pros: 1. All plastic so it won't rust 2. Relatively simple assembly 3. Sturdy considering it's all plastic 4. Roll-Guard with lock is a great safety feature 5. Good sized top platform 6. Wide enough for the bigger people 7. Reasonable price Cons: 1. Not easy to remove after installation. How do you drain water from legs? 2. Might seem a little tall for pools less than 52" ... show more

  • Sturdy Pool Ladder
Color: Warm Grey
Needed to replace above ground pool ladder & was looking for one that would be extremely sturdy that would withstand 3 young grandchildren's usage. After much research I chose this ladder the "Rollquard" A-Frame Ladder/Model #7200. I couldn't be more pleased with my selection of this ladder. Not only did my purchase arrive earlier than stated delivery date but the ladder itself is top-notch. The material that the ladder is constructed from is extremely sturdy (not flimsy plastic that bends under weight). The assembly instructions are easy to follow & understand. The assembly of the ladder doesn't require a workshop of tools. The only tools needed: Rubber Mallet, cordless drill w/ Phillips driver, 5/16" drill bit, Phillips screwdriver, Pliers & a garden hose. A second set of hands is also helpful! I found that by putting all the ladder parts (including the necessary hardware) together in the step by step assembly instructions was helpful. Total Ladder assembly time: approximately-1 1/2 hrs. Once this ladder is assembled it's extremely sturdy. After the ladder is put in & over the pool wall it has stabilizer rails that you anchor/attach to the upper pool railing that will prevent the ladder from rocking side to side or tipping over. It also increases the sturdiness & safety of the ladder. Another safety feature of the ladder is the rollquard that when closed covers the ladder steps on the outside of the pool, preventing access to climb ladder steps. Includes a padlock w/keys to use for extra safety. The only problem I encountered when putting the ladder into the pool: my inner pool floor is dug out & extends to 5 1/2' in the center. So my inside pool floor was deeper than the outside which caused the ladder to lean forward in the pool. I corrected this by digging out the needed depth on the outside of the pool wall to match the inside pool depth. Once the ladder was installed & the stabilizer bars anchored to the upper pool railing there is no movement, rocking or tipping of the ladder. The ladder steps & deck are rated to withhold up 300#. Upon testing the ladder steps & deck with an adult close to the 300# weight, I didn't notice any bending or giving of the steps/deck or movement of the ladder. As a pool owner for over 40 years this is the best above ground pool ladder I have ever seen. Also as a grandparent of 3 young grandchildren, the sturdiness of the ladder & the safety feature of the locking rollquard to prevent access to the ladder steps helps ensure the safety/well-being of my "Grand-littles"! I'm looking forward to a fun & safe swimming summer with them. I highly recommend this pool ladder for its sturdy quality materials, easy assembly/installation and safety measures. ... show more

  • Great ladder and feels stable once weighted
Color: Warm Grey
Super easy to assemble... took me and my two teenage sons about 20 minutes to get it together. instructions are decent; most is self explanatory. Once in the pool and weighted down, its a game changer replacing the flimsy factory pool ladders that come with most pools. Understand that one of the last steps is to mount it to the pool railing and this requires you to drill a hole in the rail. The "self-tapping screws" arent really self-tapping so save yourself the headache and bring a small bit to drill a pilot hole. Overall, great addition to any set up. Ladder feels good and stable. My 18yr old and I are both 6'0 210lb and its easy to get in and out of. ... show more

  • Very sturdy
Color: Warm Grey
After assembling with some difficulty, the ladder is very sturdy. Does not shift from side to side when climbing up it. It is well made, but holes for side supports should have been pre-drilled. All in all, the ladder is worth it.

  • Very Unstable Faulty design waste of money, Confer Plastics TECH, what a joke
Color: Warm Grey
Unless you have a hard sided pool, and a REALLY thick matt to go under it, keep your money and build your own stairs and platform then add a simple over the side ladder that bolts to the platform. This thing does not sit flat on any surface. It is hard to get it to sink in the pool and once My 3 out of 4 working sides were full of water the person in the pool could stand on it while the steps filled up. It FLOATS. OH man does it float. Now I got the matt that shows with the ladder. Another BIG joke. Here is why.. Even after you have all the inside stuff filled with water the slightest movement in the pool makes this bounce and shake all over the place.. So needless to say, the matt doesn't stay put either. So on closer inspection, the only thing it sets on is the skinny out side edge of the bottom step inside and out. The bottom steps sit about 1/2 an inch lower on the ground than the sides of the ladder Un like the carefully taken picture showes. ** I called tech support about this issue.. Here is what I got.. It is engineered this way.. Due to the molding there is ruff seam edges. So it will rip the pool liner if I was to take the bottom step off . Ok? So Instead of doing what I did and take a Dremel and a stone and clean up the edges, it is designed to throw you in the ground. OK,, Plus I then I got told is isn't for a pool like mine.. Again here is from that page of order. Their add. **(This ladder should not be used with Intex/inflatable/pop-up style pools.)** Mine isn't a pop up or inflatable. This was going no where fast. Said thanks for nothing and hung up. So took matter in hand. So when I took the out side bottom step off, the legs actually sat flat. Good I thought. Now when I took the inside bottom step off. Oh no, It just sits on the very front edge of the ladder sides. Nothing on this thing sits flat in the pool. Even with NO bottom step. The steps are not flat on the bottom at all. They are Concave and it is only the out side edges of step this whole thing sits on. I have a 48 in metal frame pool. The two plastic pieces that go to the side for stabilization won't work because then would BOTH sit on top of the liner. Even if I had a hard sided pool I don't think the little screw holding it together would take much to rip out if it was to actually fall over. Beside the wear on top of the pool. We thought the platform would be nice. NA,, Just made it harder to get to the first step under it. And the roll guard. Just inhibits where you put your feet getting out of the pool. It blocks the full use of the step. And it fills with water also. Having this much plastic there isn't enough weight to hold it down very good. **If you look at some of the pictures in here in the reviews which I wish I had done before, Some found they had to Tie up the ladder to the pool. Oh and don't try a use a pool cover. This is not something you want to take in and out of the pool evey day.. Deffinatly more than 1 or 2 person job. Now it is FULL of water.. Floats and bounce's around just fine till you try to get it out of the pool. **So now, Just another dump run.. I'd have sent it back but I had already cut up the box and recycled it.. I'd resell It. But I don't want to be responcable for some one else falling off of it just to get some of my money back. I guess I expected it to work.. won't happen again. And We sure won't buy another from them.. (CONFER PLASTICS) Who designs something to fail. Do it right or don't do it at all. Really bad Tech support.. Like it was OK that is isn't right.. Kim M. ... show more
