Great portable starter kit. You’re gonna need a few more odds and ends to get you going with this kit. But for the price it’s a great start for a casual prospector. I will say the sifters are a little small. Usually you want to use a 5 gallon bucket for sifting and it would be nice if bigger sifters were included. But they will do the job. Review coming soon after I use it. Very fast arrival! My first sluice and this was a good price for the items included. The classifiers are a little small but I intend to move up to a 5 gallon bucket classifier.

Practical set for a beginning prospector. Has a little bit of everything. You could pack this up in a backpack and head to the stream as soon as you receive it. Most of the equipment is SE branded and sturdy. The pans are good quality and even the smaller pan works well with minimal cons. Comes with a small rock hammer, about 12 inches long and has a sturdy forge. The sluice is 9 inches wide so keep that in mind. Most larger sluices have 12-15 inches of width so you wont be able to load too much into it at a time so its perfect for leisurely sluicing but not for production quality collection. Works as well as any sluice, just in a small package. The magnet is ok, nothing special about the pull force but works all the same. Everything else is average quality and doesn't seem to be disappointing. Great starter kit though. ... show more

We have only used it once so far. But we had a lot of fun trying it out. But it was really easy to put together and to take apart. For someone who has never done this before. It was pretty cool to play with.
