    • O-ring failed after one month — caused major oil leak

I installed this filter on my 2019 Nissan Rogue (2.5L) and it worked fine at first. About a month later, while driving, I suddenly got a low oil pressure warning and found that engine oil had sprayed throughout the engine bay, even reaching the hood. After inspection, I found the root cause: the filter’s O-ring gasket had swollen, wrinkled, and partially protruded out of the sealing surface. Oil was leaking through the protruded section under pressure. The rubber had clearly expanded after heat cycles and lost its shape. This was not an installation issue. The filter was installed correctly. I believe The problem is the quality of the O-ring material, which likely absorbed hot oil, softened, and was pushed out by oil pressure. ... show more
