  • Massive heat output and very efficient!
First this stove is built like a tank, very well made and lots of cast iron parts. Second it weighs about 250 lbs so you will need 2-3 people to carry or move IE get a dolly if you can. This thing puts out a ton of heat in the form of very hot air so it heats a 900sq ft home no problem. It will raise the temp from 54 F to 64 F in 3 hours on low , the same thing in 45 min on high in a 900 sq ft home so that is super fast. Oh and did I mention it ran 5 days on a single bag of pellets? 2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs before bed. Thats 20 hrs on one bag low only. Pretty sure I could have gotten 7 days if I had run it on high for 1+1 hrs instead of 4 total on low. First time buyers beware the cost of the separate heat output double wall stainless steel pipes and parts is high. Like $400-600 just for the special type L vent pipes elbows caps etc. And for those wondering , no you cant use type B double wall as its not rated for the temps and will corrode and be a fire risk. Also , softwood pellets burn hotter than hardwood just FYI so you will get more heat out of soft. Hardwood may burn longer but slower heating. And lastly beware the first time you run it on high open the windows and let the fumes out for about 2-3 hrs as the high temp paint will finish curing as it bakes and smokes all over the house and trust me you dont want to be breathing those fumes.... bad for the lungs. ... show more

  • This is a great stove, compact with very good heat output
Stove arrived January 16, 2015. This is a great stove, compact with very good heat output. Easy to install, very easy to clean. Sides come off for easy access to fans and inside gaskets, even a hole in the back where the auger bearing can be seen and lubed. We bought this for our shop and backup to our main house pellet stove. We are confident it will heat our whole house (about 1600 sq ft)as good or better than our current stove, when/if we need it to. We have not had to buy any oil since we started heating our home with a pellet stove about 7 years ago(and we live in Central NY). The pellets didn't drop down into the auger when the pellet level in the hopper got low, so we were told to lightly coat the sides with corn starch to make it more slippery. We have yet to try that because we don't have a problem not letting the pellets get that low. Just hope the replacement parts continue to be available for as long as the stove lasts---and it seems to be very well made so it should last a very long time if you keep it well-maintained. It would be better if there were a more in-depth service manual available on the stove---with all parts listed and numbered, so ordering new ones and replacing them would be a lot easier. So far we love this stove and would have no reservations about buying another. Best price and quality stove we have found, and in a more compact size(100 lbs lighter than our other stove). ... show more

  • Price is Right
If this isn’t your sole source of heating you’re on you’re on a budget, this pellet stove may be a good choice. Customer service is awesome, after 1 month of use, the glass in the door cracked. I called the 800 number on the owners manual, a person answered, spoke with a courteous and professional gentleman who immediately sent (overnight) a new one. Pros: awesome price; seems well built; 6 months of trouble free use; great customer service; easy to hook up, both exhaust and fresh air ports easily accessible, no extra parts required; includes a programmable integrated control panel; lights in 2 minutes, circulates air in 4-5 minutes, exterior (except for the glass) does not get too hot and is completely kid friendly during use. Cons: creates lots of ash, needs to be emptied every 3-4 days on low setting; glass becomes obstructed with ash after 6-8 hours even with the airwash vent open; uses more pellets than other pellet stoves I’ve owned (1 bag will last about 20-22 hours on low setting); fan only has one speed, would be tough to watch TV next to it unless you crank the TV volume. I use this in my basement to keep the main level floors warm and the basement dry. Because there are no fan settings and the noise is very noticeable, I wouldn’t recommend it for use in a living room. If you’re looking for a pellet stove to provide most or all of your heat, keep looking and spend a little more money. But if you’re looking for a budget stove for a backup source, occasional use, or for a basement, this is a good choice. ... show more

  • Works great
Runs great and throws off plenty of heat. I use it as supplemental heat with my electric (although lately I’ve been using it for most of my heat due to electricity costs) . 30 degrees out at night now and keeps up fine. I bought the hopper extension due to no one being home most of the day, so I need to be able to run it at least 14 hours without a refillable. Super easy to clean. Front glass clouds up quick but I don’t care. This is an issue for some people. I bought this for functionality not looks. ... show more

  • Easy to use, efficient, and warm!
We’ve used it for 6 weeks now and are super happy. Produces more heat than anticipated and we love it. We bought it as a supplemental heat source for our lower level, but it heats so well, our furnace hardly needs to be used. With rising gas prices, pellet stoves are a great option. As a semi-handy guy, it took a total of 4 hours to install. Including prep, measuring, cutting the holes in the house, etc. Great customer service team at ComfortBilt too. ... show more

  • Safety
This product has a bunch of safety features which are annoying. And you have to use the bags from tractor supply that are white and blue for the best heat output. It took me going through 3 different brands of pellets to figure that out.
