    • Great clock for a great price
This clock really is beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice; the cherry frame of the clock looks gorgeous. The accessory bits are less impressive, but the body is simply stunning. For the price, it can't be beat, and I highly recommend this clock. A few cons to note: The pendulum is rather flimsy. Of course, it's not exactly a load-bearing structure, but if you aren't careful with it when you unpack it, it's easy to bend/crimp the neck of the pendulum, which is noticeable w/ the reflective finish. The chime is of course electronic, and it sounds like it... it's not fooling anyone. With clocks like these, if the unit isn't sitting level, the pendulum may not function properly, and slow down if not stop entirely. I was having exactly this problem, but my clock was perfectly level. I put a level on the pendulum housing itself, and found it wasn't mounted properly... was off just a few degrees. It was very easy to fix... simple matter of 4 screws and a level; anyone could take care of it, but it was a manufacturing flaw. Again, great clock, and the customer service I got from Furniture Creations was fantastic. Yes, it has some less than ideal issues, but in this case, I felt like I got a lot more than I paid for. Very dissapointed You could barely hear it I have bought three sets of batteries thinking that it may have to do with the batteries but its not I had to pay someone to put it together because I dont have the time and I am not handy but know I have this clock that I always wanted but it does not have any volume as per say the furniture part of is nice looking which I could hear it when my grandkids came over they were all eager to hear nana's grandfather clock they were very dissapointed to say the list know I dont even know how to pack to retuned so I may end up with the clock with no sound ... show more

    • AWESOME BEYOND WORDS GRANDFATHER CLOCK!!
I gave my brother in Wshington DC (who has very high standards indeed for furniture) this beautiful grandfather clock for his birthday this year and he still has not stopped raving about it. He said it is in his words ,"absolutely beautiful!" He sent me pictures with his phone and I was absolutely stunned at how gorgeous it really is. He says it functions perfectly and he is very very happy. He highly recommends this to one and all!! God Bless! Well everybody here is new update I have now bought 3 of these amazing clocks. Yes you read that right. These clocks are sooooooo beautiful I bought for one for my boyfriend for Christmas and pictures simply do NOT do it justice. Seeing it up close and personal is a whole differnet ball game. Amazingly gorgeous and functions perfectly. The third wtn to my bother and his wife for a housewarmng gift. VERY VERY SATISFIED I can;t stress this enough. These clocks are the bargain of the century! Everyone who sees it is truly amazed at the beauty abd the price we paid. This is a good looking clock once it is assembled. But: (1) it came with tape on the glass parts that was hard to remove and that left a residue that I had to use Goof Off to remove; pendulum is not driven by any mechanism but simply moves by gravity (if the clock is level). and (3) the chime is a computerized chime that is not typical for a Grandfather Clock. If you want a good looking clock that keeps time, don't mind spending an hour removing tape and residue from glass, and don't mind an unusual chime; this may be the clock for you; ... show more

If you are like me and do not want to spend two thousand plus on a nice grandfather clock, you probably have been looking at this one and wondering if it is worth it or not. Based on the low price, you are probably considering that it might really be garbage. I was skeptical, but went ahead and ordered it anyway for our move to a house. It arrived, and the top part of the clock is very heavy, solid wood. The bottom part mostly is more of a veneer type wood. It looks absolutely beautiful in person, and setup was very easy. After three months, it runs great, and looks just like a two thousand dollar clock. I am so glad I ordered it! It is very much a rich cherry color. I am torn on this one, between 4 and 5 stars. It is a GREAT price, and looks great. The only drawback is that with the top part being so heavy and solid, it is slightly top heavy as the bottom part is made of veneers. We were worried about it at first- it is in an entryway area which sees a lot of dog traffic (they run around like monkeys) and so far has held up to them running and brushing against it. But then again my husband thinks we should take an extra step and secure it against the wall. So far we haven't yet... I feel for the price and overall quality it is almost (almost!) five stars, just exercise some caution with it being a bit top heavy. But if you love grandfather clocks, this is gorgeous, runs great and in person looks just like the real McCoy. ... show more

Looks good, but it is extremely cheaply made, parts come bent, bottom was chipped, doesn't keep time, doesn't read right time, off an hour or 2 either way....I get it it's cheaply priced, but not worth anymore the 20 bucks....
