  • 4.0 out of 5 stars The feral cat likes it
It is fine, we will be insulating it for winter.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Works, But Be Gentle
I had purchased this for a single hen that we ended up watching over so that itd have a small coup to stay in during the winter where we could monitor her. Its very snug, the hen is a decent size so she can sit and lay in it and I think she's squeezed through the door but wasnt her preferred place. Granted the size issue is user error because I believe dimensions are stated, but I had overlooked it, so that was to no fault of the company, just keep an eye on it. Realistically this could be used for a smaller bird, comfortably, like a quail, or could be used for a smaller cat or rabbit as a sleeping nook. As for weathering? I cant really say for sure, its held up so far outside in the winter this year but its not being used so I havent examined it closely, we ended up using an old dog box for the hen (improvised but it worked, shes not actually our bird and we just wanted a shelter for her during winter storms) Now the assembly was incredibly easy, just need a screw driver, its very simple and forward. Though the material feels a bit flimsy. Its sturdy enough when being built, I just wouldnt trust being rough with it at all. All in all, not a bad product, it wasnt for us. Be aware of what you are buying and keep an eye on the price. This was affordable and theres reasons, but again, for a small bird, cat, or single rabbit it will probably be alright ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Too Cute
I purchase this for a chicken who had newly hatched babies. They couldn't get up to the normal nesting boxes, so I needed something low to the ground and the ramp on front made it perfect. Mom and babies love their little home. It is just as pictured, and I assembled it quickly and without any trouble. It was delivered quickly too. This gave them their own little space in the coop. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: Soft wood PREV:NO pre-drilled holes. Requires buyer to drill holes for all the screws.
UPDATE: It's put together and looks/works good. I read another reviewer who mentioned the wood was soft and easy to screw into. I tried again, by hand, and noticed the holes are predrilled on some parts, but not the receiving ends. I then found the wood definitely soft enough to receive the screws. So it's a bit of a double edged sword that the wood is so soft and no drill needed, (yay), but also the quality is the wood is not very great. But I am way happier with wood over plastic, it's cheap price and ease of assembly. ******* OLD PARTLY INACCURATE REVIEW: Had I known I would have to drill the holes for all of the screws (about 20 of them - I wouldn't have purchased. Buyers need to know this ahead of time because there are plenty of people who are not handy enough - or don't even own drills - to do something as simple as drill holes. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars The left & right wall have a piece that is cut out that side should be placed right side up
All I needed was a screw driver and read directions carefully so that the left & right walls are placed correctly notice the dimensions you can tell which side goes near opening and which side goes to the back because in the front it's bigger and back gets smaller looks like a trapezoid shape. It rained and some water got inside not sure why but it was a strong storm. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Chicken Laying Den
I bought this for some ducklings I fostered. They wouldn't have anything to do with this little house. My chickens however will leave the coop and all take turns laying in this little gem. The roof lifting up makes it easy to gather eggs and clean. My only complaint was the smell. It was overwhelming. Whatever is used to treat it was pungent. Once aired out it's proved to be a nice little purchase. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great hutch as long as it isn't the main habitat!
I bought this to add to an outdoor enclosure for my guinea pigs. They usually are indoors, but I wanted something nice and sturdy other than their typical hides when they are in the backyard exploring with me. I like that the door functions as a ramp. It allows me to connect the hutch to a big fenced in cage that I keep on the grass. I would ONLY use this outside as the wood smells VERY strongly, which can hurt a guinea pig's respiratory system. Since it will only be outside (and not even used every day OR season), I am hoping that the smell will fade quickly. The air holes are not enough for venting in heat, but that's OK for me because I won't have my pigs outside unless I am outside too. This was VERY easy to put together with a drill. I like that the bottom wooden panels come out too; I'm hoping I can hose it off if needed, though I plan to put some sort of mat down to prevent poop and pee stains. This doesn't look like it's the sturdiest thing in the world, but it's perfect for what my needs are. I'm curious to see how it holds up with the weather. I'll probably bring it inside during colder months to add longevity. This is not an acceptable stand alone hutch for ANY animal on its own, but I think this is great if it's used to supplement a larger space. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, some challenges
The media could not be loaded. I bought the small hutch for two of my chickens that do not want to stay in the coop with the other ones. It is definitely small but that’s why I bought it and easy to assemble minus the hinge that still slams when you shut it (my husband had to do). It’s definitely on the cheaper side and will not withstand winters without additional protection. ... show more
