The product that I received was new in the sealed packaging (3-pack light brown). The formula is the new drip-free one - a friend assisted me with application. My roots were grown out quite long - I have white hair. Directions were followed precisely - timing, etc.. I only have positive things to say about this hair color: 1) no itching or burning 2) blended with previous color even though overlapped 3) soft and shiny with highlights after applying conditioner and blow drying. I was told at a salon to NOT wash hair after coloring for 72 hrs because hair color opens the hair cuticle and it closes after a few days - that was the reason for my box color washing out or fading after 3 weeks - I did not allow 72 hrs. before washing! No grey drops were used. The white hair was completely covered. As I get older I don't wash my hair more than twice a week (unless a sweaty job done) and I use shampoo without sulfates. So far I am really impressed by this hair color - and that is saying a lot for box color. As everyone has different body chemistry/hair composition perhaps it won't work on everyone but I know that I have resistant grey/white and this completely covered and blended - even over another color mistake that was done at the salon. I have bought this color and brand for many years. It's the perfect shade of dark brown, without being too dark. People are always surprised when I tell them that I dye my hair. Just make sure you have air flow. I used it with the door once, and my eyes stung worse than onions!

I use this all the time. I have brown hair with grays that come through every few months. This covers the grays exactly like it’s supposed to. It does smell like hair dye of coarse. Color: 6.5 Lightest Brown Hair Color Size: 6.26 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
It looked like the color of cement when mixed so I threw it out rather than risking it. I have never seen anything that looked like that in a kit for light brown in 30 years of using Clairol hair color. I couldn’t return it after opening and mixing it. No wonder it was only $5!

First time using this color. I like the color so far it's only been day one. How it fades is left to be seen. I used this on my medium golden brown hair which is the color I normally use. This 6A is light brown without being too orange. In 25 minutes it covered up my gray roots that frame my face and on the top of my head which is what I wanted. So no problem with the color sticking, for the most part. No strong odor. It has a very mild soft fragrance which is slightly noticeable but not at all strong or overpowering like most other hair color products. The fragrance did not linger or waft throughout the house. The included conditioner is a generous size and very effective to soften and condition the hair. A little goes a long way. The negative is that the product is a slighly thin and runny compared with garnier or loreal which I normally use. It can be hard to manage when applying and needs a thicker coating of product on stubborn problem areas just to get it to stay on the grays. Overall I am very pleased with the results and product and will buy again. ... show more
