I know this product is not recommended for gray hair, but I like the fact that it will wash out and I can recolor when I want, rather than seeing gray roots and having the difficulty of coloring my roots at home by myself. My hair is almost completely gray on the top, but underneath and ends are mostly my natural light brown. I got the light blonde color because I was afraid of going too dark but will probably try the medium blonde next time. Being a Demi-permanent dye, I didn’t expect it to do anything crazy. I had auburn/strawberry blonde hair with gold ends before and used the Dark Rose color to dilute the gold and keep some red. It gave it slight pink undertones, which I expected and really love. It’s a fun twist on my naturally reddish color hair. My roots weren’t affected too much, but again, it’s a demi dye so not a huge issue. I left it on the upper hair about 20 mins, worked it down to the middle for another 10, then left on my ends for about 5-10 mins as my ends were more porous to begin with. (From previous baby lights bleaching) This product is also extremely gentle. My hair wasn’t dried out much at all, which is shocking as I have fine hair that dries out easily. I tried twice - I first bought the dark blonde and it did nothing but make my hair shiny. Then I bought this medium cool blonde and it still did nothing but make my hair shiny. I promise that I did it right.. watched videos and followed the instructions. So, just note: this doesn’t change your hair color.
