I got this for my chickens, obviously :) It took about an hour to put together, and I needed another person for some of it, so keep that in mind. You can probably do it yourself, too. This is made of nice quality materials that are all coated well, so it will not rust or rot in my opinion. There is a slatted area, a round rail area (both on top), round rails on either side, round railed ladder that you can move anywhere on the sides just by unhooking it, and my favorite--the swings, which are made of the slats. This does come with all the nuts, bolts, washers, screws, BUT does NOT come with tools. The instructions are great and easy to follow. I have attached a photo that includes all the tools I used to put it together. I also included a photo of me standing next to it (I'm 5'7") for size reference. Overall, this is an awesome little piece that works for a small flock. I may get another, as I've expanded mine. I'd say it is worth the nearly $60 it costs, too. ... show more

    • Lots of assembly, but chickens say it's worth it
First thing to know is it comes in a LOT of pieces so make sure you have time and patience when setting out to assemble this. It comes in a small package but the final product is large so there is quite a bit of assembly. However, it was definitely worth it - it has so many options for my chickens, between round perches, square perches, low ones, high ones, a ladder, and TWO swings! Since the ladder is detachable the unit is easy to get through narrow openings in the chicken run and it's light enough to move around as needed. Looks like it will withstand all kinds of weather, and within 24 hours of having it out there, I've already seen six chickens on there at a time checking it out. ... show more
